I have pink legs and my wife has dark legs.... So what is the problem.......???
  4. Some birds take a long time to mature... Looks very male to me......
  5. I agree with you also Finnie.. But the reality is that Australia are already heading towards the look of the bottom birds.... ( Buffalo look )... I have seen different photo's of the 2 bottom birds which belong to Les martin of the UK, and they don't look as bad or as good.. ( depending on how you view them ).. As they look in these pictures..
  6. The above birds are readily available in Australia and would be much cheaper here as there are lots of birds like that here or better birds... The below birds would certainly go for many thousands here in Australia as we are not up to that standard yet.....

Been a couple of years now since this was discussed.... Did anyone adopt the Don Burke system ... ? Has anyone had the fantastic results in their breeding like Don did.... ?

  10. Indians like to put red colour on their own foreheads.. Somebody has dyed these birds. Probably the person who sold them to Vikaas. Just like the practice of Injecting fish with dyes to make them glow in different colours. Cruel practices just to make money, no thought about the animal. I only hope that the colour has only been applied to the feathers.
  11. The red will probably disappear when the birds moult...
  12. Manners please.... Telling people to shut up in a forum is not cool...
  13. Very nice indeed.......
  14. In Tassie they pay $5 to $10 each and sell for $25 to $35....Not many show types being sold in pet shops, so mainly small pet types..

Time for an update.......... Shed is up on the slab ....... Still a lot of work to do, but it is a work in progress.... I went to the tip shop the other day and purchased this door for $8..... The idea is to wire the top half and use it as my main door, just using the solid door outer door at night for security... I also purchased this window for $15........ I think it is double glazed with wire in between... I would like to put this in the front r/h side of the shed..... Also picked up a few of my old breeding cages that had been out on loan.... Now have 22 breeding cages in total.... Glad now that I did not sell them I still need to line the inside and put something on the floor......... Also I still need to put up the new shed so I can get my tools out of this one... Aviary is still only half up...... So much to do and so little time.....
  24. I just love the surprises you can get from breeding budgies... I paired 2 reccessive pieds and popped out this bird......
  25. Looks like you are off to a flyer Dan. Birds look very nice indeed.
