  5. Hi Patrick,i can understand why you would be happy with one round, you have had one busy breed ing season so far i don't know how you kept up with them all,my babies devour the vegies and soft food as soon as i place it in the cage. I'm really looking forward to the auction i've never been to one before, are we allowed to go abit earlier than normal to check out the birds that we might be interested in? Libby.
  6. Hi Libby, Yes as he really stands out amongst the other chicks though I like them all. He has a sister I think, still in the nest. There is also an Albino pair of chicks that should be out of the nest next week. How are yours going? Cheers Patrick Hi Patrick my chicks are doing really well , all are in and out of the nestbox all day long their eating lots of vegies and nibble at seed. I caught the parents mating today so i'm assuming their going for round two. Will you be at the meeting Wednesday night? if so i'll introduce myself. Libby.

  21. I got the birds of a private breeder, and saw the babies from the previous clutch with the parents so they have definetly had a clutch before.
  22. I'll remove her to a holding cage asap, they have had a clutch together previously, but for their previous owner not me.When i got him he had a bit of cere missing obviously now caused by her, i wish i'd been told about how aggressive she is when in breeding condition. The hen is happy for him to sit on the perch by the nesting box and feed and preen her,not sure if he's trying to get in there which upsets her.
  23. Hi Kaz, how's your husband doing, i hope he's okay.
  24. I've had a pair in a breeding cage for about 4 weeks with no result,i was just about to put them back in the avairy, when all of a sudden the hen has started attacking the cock, the first time i did'nt witness it and he was abit bloody on his head. Well today i have been watching them, and she's been in the nestbox with him sitting outside when all of a sudden there was this all mighty racket and she had him pinned to the floor. I went to block the nestbox enterance thinking she's not interested in breeding and that's the problem. The hen was hiding in the nestbox and i'm tap tap taping on the box waiting for her to pop out,so i lift the lid and sitting inside is an egg i don't know what to do i'm scared she's going to kill him. Do i just keep a close eye on them (i'm home all day) or do i seperate him Thanks Libby
