  1. I took my son fishing for the second time last weekend , After an effort for bait and a licence. we finally made it to the water. It was his lucky day , he caught three Whiting . 2 went back , but this one was a keeper.
  2. I switch straight over to the new rings, Although im not breeding yet as I didnt stop really last year and im over it , so been having a break . I just started the big clean today , got a heap of birds to cull , then will pair for one round before christmas.
  3. Thanks for the replies, will look for a local breeder of the dwarf lop eared
  4. Ive read this post a couple of times an Im going to stay reserved in my reply . This is only about budgies and the treatment of them and I can 100% say im not laughing at anyone! Matt. Ps , I hope the sulphadim works.
  5. Im thinking of buying my son a pet Rabbit for his birthday , does anyone here have rabbits and which types do you recommend?
  6. Good luck finding Normals, Their Rarer than a single in a singles Thread.
  7. okay , Get ready for an ear Bashing!!! I Cannot Believe you are back Two months later STILL wanting people here to solve your problems when you didnt take any advice the first time. Grow up !! That said , If you are willing to LISTEN , The Aristopet Sulphadim will treat Cocci , read the directions on the bottle , From memory I think it says to put it in the water and also give a drop directly to the beak every day, every bird. Then CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN , you must Clean. I am now going as I feel Admin comming.
  8. Good info Dean, Make sure you have a good calcium source for that hen, The hen looses about a third of calcium from he body to produce the egg, if she has nothing to replace this she may eat the egg upon laying , Keep an open mind and try different things before you decide to cull her , especially if she is a good hen.
  9. Im back , Not much of a singles thread!!! going on here , Although there seams to be alot of interest here , 3 Days since I posted the thread and already there has been 374 views. Yes I am single , I think someone asked ? , I have a son whos nearly 7 .
  10. I'm guessing it didn't kill them :hooray: but did it make them sick? I have expanda foamed the entire aviary/birdroom (a very dodgy job) but i'm going to put a ceiling and insulation in so birds can't get at the steel wool and expanda foam. I'm really hoping no mice get in No there were no problems . Your covering it up so you will have nothing to worry about . you can cut the excess away with a knife once it drys.
  11. Nah mate , All ages Welcome I said Admin , Let me checkout whos in admin , then we can see whos going to control this thing.
  12. I hope you two are both single or your in the wrong thread. LOL
  13. Just thought of an Idea , A Thread for Singles , Maybe Admin can Police it in their spare time
  14. Hi there Kristy, Only one question from me , Why are you putting Condies Crystals in their water? You can easily poison your birds with this. Plain drinking water will be fine for your birds. Look at it this way, Do you drink water every day with condies crystals in it.......... Cheers , Matt
  15. I hope they were not near my bird, what lot number bird did you get? My sick bird came from NSW apparently. Have you got grit in the quarantine cage. I would put that bird on Sulphur meds straight away until you get him to the Vet .
  16. I have used it , put the birds back in when dry and they ate it, didnt really eat it, the hens just bit it off and dropped it on the ground until they couldnt get their beaks at it anymore.
  17. "Rickets'' Is basically the inability of the bird to matabolise and absorbe the minerals in the body, Vitamin D is the key as without this the bird cannot take in the calcium it is receiving . Make sure the mineral additive you put in the water has Vitamin D . Also dont overdose as this can cause more harm than good. Two Days in the water is usually enough.
  18. 8 birds would fit comfortably in that size aviary. One thing is to have plenty of space between those boxes , hens will get bossy , so you need to be ready to deal with that , Otherwise enjoy your birds.
  19. LOL :sadsorry: , Yep im a is or it isnt type person with budgies , only reason is the more we stuff with the varietys the harder its going to be to judge , which will result with more finger pointing at judges . I heard that some birds may get a committee to say what the bird is then make up a certificate for it so you can prove that the bird is what you say it is . Sometimes I really think we are walking backwards into the furtue.
  20. " Should Defination " What do you mean Dave ? I call it a Yellowface greywing Type 2 . Im not a believer of the Dilute term , to me its a poor coloured greywing verses body colour and should be judged that way. But that is just my opinion!! Thanks Taboo and Splat .A couple of normals This one is in his ugly stage. A split Fallow, Going to have a great mask. This one has good potential.
  21. Yeah happy with the progress. These yellowfaces just keep on coming.
  22. The AGM was held on Tuesday and now a new Committee has been Voted in . We will be getting straight to work on the Yound Bird show schedule so keep an eye on the web site for more details. If there is anyone around the central coast you are welcome to come along to the meeting nights. Goodluck with the Young bird shows and the spring breeding.
  23. Ive had this cup for 20 years, I do get some weird looks on building sites when I make a cuppa.
  24. Clints birds are popular. Any word on Bob Smiths? I left early as I only went for a few particular birds , But the 2 Smith birds I did see were lots 37 $1200 and lot 38 $400 .
