  1. I found the snake in the bottom right cabinet... So it fits through that gap... Sorry about the picture on side...
  2. I never thought of that... Thanks PJ... As I'm also going to breed clearbodies may try that & see if they are... Thank you again...
  3. Well, we had a visit from the neighbours behind us last night and it seems that the snake had been living in their shed... They found a dry skin... yuck...! And I have check and double checked for gaps around my breeding room and there is nothing... So the only way the snake got in was through the front door during the day... As I have one wire door and the other side net (helps with air flow and sun light)... My neighbours were worry when they found that snake skin because they also have two young kids that were outside yesterday too... Scarey but luck no one was hurt... Did my rounds this morning and was so scared about another snake I wore my steel cap boots... Oh with PJ's on too... LoL... Other half just laugh... *shakes head*...
  4. oh no... I'm sorry to hear it... Hugs... RIP lil budgie...
  5. Yep... I hope to breed it out oneday... I hope... I love the albino and seeing the cinnamon on them really does ruin the look of them... To me anyways...
  6. All my albino's have very faint brown markings on them too... and they are just Albinos...
  7. Thanks Lib... Now I have a reason to finish my milo quicker... Hee hee... Better get more milk... :rip: Wow, just a bit scary Clearwing... I bet your friend was trying to work out what was going on... I know I would have... We spent sometime this arvo visiting neighbours and just informing them to keep an eye out for snakes now that the weather has kicked in... Some neighbours were really surprised that there was one in the area... Alot of families are going to have talks to the kids tonight too about the dangers of snakes and what to do... Abit of a worry for families and pets too, not just birds... I have two dogs, hate them at time... LoL... But would have been so upset too if they had gotten bitten...
  8. Thanks guys... I know Kaz, its not fair... :rip: And I was looking forward to seeing what young would come from that pair too... Was hoping some nice spangle blues or violets, after looking at the gentics for it... Now I am a little worried to step into the breeding room, thinking there is more... The smallest move from nothing is now making me jump...
  9. Just a reminder to all that snakes are now out and about again... Its not just mice we have to worry about it, its the snakes as well... After going in and out my breeding room a number of times today, only within the last hour did a unwanted guess visit me... Where it has come from I do not know... Sitting in the bottom of one of my cabinets with two dead budgies next to it was a snake, a dugite or brown spotted snake as it is called... http://members.iinet.net.au/~bush/ID_index.htm We got the Armadale reptile place on Albany Rd to remove it for us... I lost a beautiful violet hen and a spangle blue cock, they had no nest (a good thing in this case)... I was and still is very upset that I lost them but glad it was not me who got bitten or Jason as he often sits with me in there... So just a reminder to all, just because you are not near the bush doesn't mean they wont find you... my beautiful budgies... Fly free and to a better place...
  10. Same here Kaz I'm the same, I dont mind people using them thats when they ask of course... I've had people ask to use my photos before and its not a problem... I just like to be asked first... Old fashion I guess... But we all have different thoughts about it... Some people might have thought it as a complaint that a pet shop or somebody else wants to use their photo for something... I completely understand what your saying GenericBlue and I don't think I would have been so p**sed off about it if it hadn't been a pet shop... If I had 'used' one of their photo's they would have sued me for copyright because they are a business and I'm just a person... Just one person, who cares about her... And I don't think a business should be allowed to get away with it... I think thats why I was so mad about it all... And what you say is true GenericBlue, don't want others to see it simple don't put it on the net... I can agreed with that... But it would be nice to think some people do have respect for others images or writtings...
  11. He looks to be out of condition to me as well, as his beak is going a lighter blue in the centre there...
  12. I love what you are doing with it and keeping the memories alive... The best part when you walk through your door your granparents will be there to greet you (in spirit of course)... I love it and look forward to seeing the finished product...
  13. I know... :/ They said it can take a few hours for it to be removed from the site... So now I wait...
  14. Last one I had here I chased it away with my broom... and than sat outside near the aviaries for 2 hrs before it got the idea that the budgies were mine... Was a funny site to see, me running around with a broom above my head chasing a bird...
  15. Hiya everyone,Just putting the word out there and to see if I can find the owner of this budgie photo... As I believe it shouldn't be attach to this companies advertisement... http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Pets-Horses/...rue&AdOnTop=Why you ask...? Well, because they also have another advertisement with another photo...http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Pets-Horses/...rue&AdOnTop=And this one belongs to me...! I was not happy at all and have since contacted them to have it removed ASAP... Our photos are protected by copyright laws... Only found this today while I was looking for show cages... Not happy at all... Edit... 15mins after posting... Yippeee...! Already had a reply from them and they are removing my photo...
  16. What aviary mess... Looks great...
  17. The birds seem very happy chirping away. I would like to think it is solely me, but I think the cooler weather has a lot to do with it. Give yourself some credit Dave... They are happy because you look after them so well and because of that they are healthy and loved very much... That would give any budgie a reason to chirp...
  18. I heard a cock cere changing to a brwon colour was liver problems... hmmm
  19. Wow... Looks great and the birds will love it... pat on the back to you all... thumbs up...
  20. Same here renee, I remember going there many of times and seeing the same thing... And I know what look you are talking about too... I reckon we both got the same one... Sad to think people have lost the way they felt about animals...
  21. It's eye's look to be the plum red colour of the lacewing from the photo's... It could be female, it is starting to colour up across the front of the cere and if it is a female it should go darker brown when in breeding condition... I agree with Kaz... Quarantine is very important, even just for two budgies... I would also consider removing the nesting box for the quaratine period too...
  22. And from the picture he has scaley face and leg...
  23. I think I have a pretty good idea on what place you are talking about... Grrr... No one cares these days... its all MONEY MONEY MONEY...! I offen think about opening a bird supply store, foucing on all the accesserices, cages and seeds... All pet stores are the same and its hard not too feel sorry for these birds and other animals in the same sort of places... I just wish there was more we could do to stop things like this happening...
  24. Agree with Kaz, Lacewing... and it looks to be a male... Just double check cere though...
  25. No not mauve... Myabe FY2 blue, could explain why he has blue green belly...
