No I haven't put splits on yet Kaz, I'll pick some up from MBC I think... Thanks all for your help... Now I hope to the boys get better soon... I can always use them in the baby cage to teach the young how to act, thats if the adults do not accept them back... Thank you all again so much...

  16. Hmmm... They show no signs of scaley (hence the reason why i ruled it out) but will give a few treatments on legs to see if it makes any differences... Thanks Kaz...
  17. It is just not my year so far... A snake and now two budgies will swollen legs... Both boys are gold rings and both have swollen legs, the leg that has the ring on it... So now I have had to cut their rings off... Both seem to be happier about it but we will see, budgies can be very sneaky at times... Now i'm at a loss as to why two birds at the same time both have one swollen leg each... Could it be they are allergic to a metal but why now? Any suggestions as to why... I'm to do some reading myself aswell... Thanks guys...
  18. That does help alot Amy... Thank you as I near live both of them...

  20. If anyone here wants to learn about genetics and is a bit slow at learning it like me... Than read the articles on the link below about the 'parblue puzzle parts 1 -5'... And there are many other articles on there for good reading too... http://www.birdhobbyist.com/parrotcolour/articles.html Thank you to Hans, for giving me this info...
  21. Here here Kaz... Agreed...
  22. I'd say male as he has the blue/purple cere going on there...
  23. I agree with Genericblue... But a photo of the whole budgie will let us know if we missed anything... I'd go with vovo... He has that cheeky lil look on his face... :happy-dancing:
  24. Well said LittleBudgie2005 and I would of being the same Thank you Splat... Glad others thinks their age too... What makes breeding show budgies even better, is working your way from the bottom to the top with what you have... And like Genericblue said otherwise your just a babsitter... So do people like that real deserve to call themselves a top show breeder... A top show breeder to me, is someone who has work hard to get where they are today or where they got to and made a differences in what the hobby is today for us all...! Otherwise this hobby is no better than the rest...! I my kids will be brought up the same way I have and I hope they continue to think and improve the way of this hobby for all... Pet types and show breeders... Even that backyard breeder... I'm glad I'm one of them...! :laughter:
  25. Wow Renee... Some really strong words in these posts... I started off with pet size budgies and still use them to this day, As not all varietis of show budgies are big and buff and they need that kick start to help improve them... Which is what I thought breeding budgies was all about... Improving what we had and enjoying the journey along the way... If show breeders had told me sorry I'm not given you any info go away, I don't think I would have ever got into budgies like I have today... And I wasn't a member of any club when I purchased alot of my show budgies, Brett Wood, Hans S, Rita, Gina House and many others and not ONCE did someone say 'oh you are not with a club sorry go somewhere else'... If I was like that I would be ashamed of who I am... And I still like to walk around the pet shops, just because I go there doesn't mean I buy from there... Its called checking the market out and everyone does it when the shop, look in catalogues for a cheaper price, sale items, etc... Really, if we all had that way of thinking than no one would show budgies... And I thought we were all adults here... Now I'm off to play with my lil boy because he doesn't think like some adults do... Just my thoughts on everything... :happy-dancing:
