Do your foster's have egg's/baby's of their own?

Greywing To Dilute ? Pairing
Those baby's look great kaz, i would definitely recommend possibly breeding the last budgie, in spring next year... as you said, the strength of the body color is very visible.

Baby Budgies On The Way...
Ahh, That's why then....maybe he's also spangle... cause it looks ALOT like spangle in the wing :rip:

Fighting, Egg Eating And Mice In Nest Boxes
It's not at all your fault... these thing's happen to everyone... It's just unfortunately a common outcome when colony breeding.

Rip Angel

Baby Budgies On The Way...
Look at casper's wing... Look's spangle to me... and i don't see red eye's... unless you fixed red eye in photobucket. So i don't think it's albino... :rip:

Egg Eating
Good advice kaz, And yes i was serious about the chilli sauce ghazzigh, But not so much now that kaz has said they dont feel the heat like we do.... I alway's solve a problem before i do something to prevent the problem... otherwise you would have to expect it to happen again

Egg Eating
:rip: Nice idea with the hot sauce... be sure to have PLENTY of water available

Fighting, Egg Eating And Mice In Nest Boxes
another problem with colony breeding....You are going to have to sort out this mice problem before you breed, Otherwise you will find dead chick's and eaten egg's. ...as for the hen who attacked them... you need to take her out ...as she is the main problem... and her mate also... Peanut butter work's sort of... but it's not a suitable substitute for seed, chicks, Egg's etc Try this link ... http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....c=26614&hl= ... Until then... take the hen out as well as the injured one.. and wash her wound's with boiled water(Left till warm) ... then clean her with cotton ball's or bud's... or even some non-fragrant tissue...

New Mousetrap
Look's like an Air Conditioner at first glimpse :rip: ...We have Bunnings here in belmont, might go ask them.... i am yet to have any mice problem's... i always put some sunflower seed where i suspect... and non of which have been cracked.... as for the old place the shed had them and whenever i came out in the morning's their was cracked sunflower shell's on the ground in the shed.... But likewise it seems to do the job, and for $25 you cant go wrong ..... Whoever say's cheese works for trap's... i can tell you that's a MYTH!

Well... Once Again I Could Not Help Myself
I'm really excited about it :rip: ...i did extensive research on the Polytelis family which include's superb's, princess's etc.... I have found that they are prone to worm's... so as to that i will be THOROUGHLY cleaning out the whole aviary and replacing the surface completely by mushing up the soil and replacing it with sprout seed's for growth... my aviary's face north... meaning they get sunlight directly on the aviary from 6-10am and from 2-5pm so it's not a problem with light I might even consider sand for the first 2 week's... i'll have to wait and see.
-
Meet Mojo
I had a similar problem... my little sky blue survived a nest slaughtering a few weeks back... here's what he looked like a week after it cleared up.... before this image was taken he had a severly swollen head, a big red puffy thing underneath his lower beak... and he looked absolutely battered.... it's a real shame when hen's do something as pittyful as this.... when you think about it... it's like a human parent deciding to hit her baby over the head with a blunt object .... really terrible.... Here's a picture of the lil guy who had a similar problem to your's.

Well... Once Again I Could Not Help Myself
They will be inside my large blue cage that i have... it's about 1 metre tall and around 80 wide... so it's plenty of room for 8 bird's... it wont be 8 bird's at a time in the 1 cage at once though... until it get's hot in summer.

Break It To Me Gently
Aww, i thought the little guy was going to last as long as possible in your care... although it was expected being a duster... just know that you did the best you could. :rip:

Well... Once Again I Could Not Help Myself

Rip Angel
What an unfortunate loss, So sorry to hear it, She could have had a hidden problem... only way to find out is an autopsy from the vet, But assuming your financial situation.... but indeed it is a very terrible loss... alway's is when you lose something as special as a pet bird... :thankyou:

Well... Once Again I Could Not Help Myself
I've fallen victim once again .... i should be ashamed of myself to fall for such beautiful creature's.... i could not help myself..... but to buy a pair of ........REGENT PARROT'S! Seeing that i'm going to organise my budgie's to be bred in cabinet's... i am going to put either 2 pair or 1 pair of regent parrot's in my aviary..... 2 pair will cost me $500 and 1 pair $250 About them going in an already used aviary... what should i take as precaution's.... before putting the regent's in the aviary on their own.... should i wait 6 week's? or should i let them go in the aviary.... budgie's come out tomorrow into cabinet's hopefully and then i'll be picking up the regent's tomorrow. Any idea's on the best way to do this... and of course the safest way. For those who do not know what a regent parrot is... Here is the Wikipedia link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regent_Parrot They are roughly the same size as a ringneck parrot... and are related to the superb parrot and the princess parrot...so they are indeed a considerably large bird...And here are some Pictures of the regent parrot, their are 2 type's... Yellow and Green... These are not actual picture's of the one's im getting, these are only google image's sample's.... No copywright intended to the owner's of these image's

My Aviary....start To Finish
No we cant. They were built on site and are not ready made metal aviaries. We dont buy ready made aviaries as our needs are for bigger than that. We have to build what we want. this is how the aviaries were when we moved in.........Kens is on the right. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fantastic set up!!!!! ....i tell ya what...Ken's princess's would be loving that aviary on the right.... as for the budgie's... they could not be happier.... must cost a fortune in seed
