My Pairs
any one can have him if they want I hardly noticed he was a clearwing when I got him, I had never looked at dilutes closely or had one, and I only found out after that he was a clearwing, not greywing! I don't know if it would be worth seeing what chicks he got with the violet/sky blue hen I am getting from Liv. Maybe just one clutch.....

I am thinking about selling the clearwing cock. As much as he is a nice bird, he is all body and no head, and I don't particularly want to breed clearwings because they are dilute's.

Birds Aren't Interested In Breeding
Sorry Kaz, it's just this time all my hens are in condition and I have moved my birds inside now. I was hoping for some more opinions. Just thought I would add Condition and Climate: The birds are kept inside now. They are kept in my spare room, with a window open during the day and if its warm/hot air con. or heater is on in another room. All hens are in condition or at least were but I think the YF Hen's cere is starting to darken.

Birds Aren't Interested In Breeding
HI guys. I have had 3 pairs in cages for a long time now, about 3 weeks. All of the birds are not showing interest. Cage 1: The cock was nesting a bit, but hen uninterested. She has one clutch, about 3 months ago but she has been put in with a different cock this time. Would it be possible that becuase I don't have her with her previous cock that she was bonded to, that she won't breed unless with him? Cock- Unused Hen- 1 clutch - Black Band Cage 2: Hen and cock are both uninterested in box. The cock is still reasonably young, about 16 months. He was bonded to another hen in the avairy, but she got away so I put him with another hen. Cock- Unused Hen- Unused - Green Band ( I think) Cage 3: Both birds showing no interest in nest. The hen was used about 3 months ago in a different style cage then the one's I own. She was paired to another cock. ( I got her from the breeder when she finished) She is now in a cage that was the previous style that the breeder had her in, but showing no interest. She is perfectly comfortable being in the box, like when I put in new seed/water. Cock- Unused Hen- 1 clutch. I was wondering if anyone has any idea why these birds are not breeding? Hens are all in condition, and the cocks are all healthy. They are fed soft food, seed, veggies and fresh seeding grass'. Does anyone have any tips to get these birds enthusiastic? Cheers Squeak

My Pairs
I am trying to breed some TCB's, some nice Cinnamon Grey and Green's. I am planning on basing my birds aroung these 4 cinnamons, and another hen I am getting from Liv. I can post a picture if you want. I am planning on breeding the sky cock to a violet/sky hen I am getting of Liv, and these should have some nice sky's and violets. I also have a Clearwing Violet Cock, A YF Normal Grey cock and one other I think in the aviary, otherwise all my birds are in the pairs I just posted yesterday.

My Aviary....start To Finish
You have some real nice exhibition budgies there. I love the Cinnamon grey's and the WF (?) Blue in the second picture I love your aviary, in total how long has it taken to build it?

The Definitive Meat Protein Debate
Haha , They already have pigeon races, so why not budgies? haha. I would be worried about the birds eating the meat, then eating chicks? Kind of like with chickens, you shouldn't feed them egg shells because then they start eating their eggs?

Also, on the pairing natrually, I agree with you guys (in a way). All my pet type's have paired natrually, but with my show ones they really do have good taste at all. I had my biggest, gorgeous hen pair herself to a pet type! She was my best, $50 I spent on her at an auction. Gorgeous Light Green Cin. Hen. She got away unfortunately. And yes , I do have rings on my show birds and I have rings for the chicks

So I should Put Texas with The white lacewing, and then put the sky blue cock to the YF Cin. Grey Hen? Then I put the WF Grey Cock to the Rec.Pied Hen? She has a very flat blow, and I like the Cin.Grey cock's blow. So If I do put the TCB to the white lacewing, I will get some visual TCB cocks and hens

My Pairs
Thankyou! I have the Grey Cin. Cock to the Grey Cin. Hen. I have the Rec. Cin. Hen to Spangle Cin. Cock I have the Lacewing hen to sky cock. (The reason for this pairing is to try and get some length in the chicks, as the cock is quite long and the hen is a bit bigger in her body) I did have the Rec. Hen to the Sky cock, but they weren't breeding. Does anyone know if any of these chicks could be showed?

Do You Name All Your Budgies
I have about 20+ budgie and they all have sentimental names! But, I need to admit I didn't name one budgie for about 2 months after I got it, and even then I don't totally agree on the name. I have one hen, still un-named from 2+ weeks ago . But otherwise I name all of mine

Rabbit And Guinea Pig Pellets For Budgies ?
Thankyou Kaz two more questions... (sorry) How could you give whey protein to your birds if they don't eat soft food? Put it in their water? When you buy it does it need to be a special 'bird' product?

Cocks Or Hens?
I would say 2 & 3 as hens, but I am utterly confused on the black

Rabbit And Guinea Pig Pellets For Budgies ?
okay,I know I am going to seem really silly here, but I am majorly confused. I have a couple of questions. 1. What form does whey protein come in? 2. So are the pellets okay for budgies or not? (rabbits & guinea pigs) 3. What brand of rabbit pellets is it, and how much are they? Sorry, But I am so confused about the debating and all the posts

Pictures Of A Junior Bird
Hi I was wondering if anyone has pictures of some birds that have placed in the Junior category? I am going to try and aim towards a certain standard, so I don't go to my first show and make a fool of myself Thanks! Squeak_Crumble

Breeding Diet?
Hello! okay, I know this is really bad of me, but I do not currently give my birds a breeding diet. These are show budgies (and a couple pets) so I realised I probably should be giving them something other then what they get. They have seed, water and a veggie mix I make up every other day. I was just wondering what soft food, pellets or crumb mix I could give them? They are not exactly into eating new things, so It may need to be green and leafy . Thanks guys!

My Pairs
HI Guys okay, I am facing a bit of a crisis/bad situation. I have never bred or paired show budgies before, and I am REALLY unsure on what to do. I am looking at breeding a cinnamon line, and maybe a TCB or Lacewing line. Then birds I have are mainly from culls, so they aren't the best but they seem okay to me (which doesn't mean much). So would you guys please help me to pair these birds up? Here is my total collection of Show types (excuse the names) White Opaline Cinnamon Lacewing hen ( I think...may need to check) Markings are poor. YF Grey Cock.
