Is It Best To Breed One Colour Of Budgies?
Has the hen been with the same cock both times? It would help if we knew the outcomes of the chicks from previous clutches. The way to tell if the cock is a cock, His cere (fleshy part above nose) should be pink or a purple colour. If both of their noses are brown, you have two hens

First Round Pairs
I don't know how the hen did it, but 6 out of 7 is great! Another chick has hatched form the Green Cinnamons, but another had died The youngest died, I think it was because she had the 5 in the nest. Another chick has been banded also. Photo's soon....

Hi! Just a couple questions 1. Does anyone know if Brisbane costs? Like when you said it costs $50 but some airports allow you to check in your birds as luggage, for free (unless you pack heavy and need to pay extra like me ) 2. What airlines allow you to use pet travel? Ta! Squeak.

My Daughter Getting Ripped Off?
I have had the same thing happen to me. $4 for a hand-reared baby. I have been trying to work out a good way to sell. Because I hand-rear my bubs and sell them to make money for my show birds, I can't afford $4 for a clutch of three that I wake up at 6am in the morning to feed. Try maybe making an advert in the paper, or selling at another shop.

Greywing & Rec Pied Babies
Test breeding would be the only way to tell that. So what has that cinnamon chick ended up being? A YF Sky Blue Cinnamon? Pretty Pretty.

Thanks Guys! okay well the second chick on the Green Cinnamons clutch is banded, and she has another chick hatch! So now, with 5 chicks in her nest and only one in the Grey-Green and Blue pairs' box, I fostered the oldest two from the green cinnamons. So three chicks in each now.- How To Use A Crop Needle
I have beenr esearching into crop needles and I find two GREAT videos on youtube: The second video actually shows a demonstration on it. It is important to hold the needle itself andto twist it as it goes down. Also, just a note, a budgie should be using a 16g one as 18g could easily go down their windpipe- First Round Pairs

I love all your birds Kaz <3- What Mutation Am I?
Definetley NOT a Clearbody budgie. 1. Clearbodies have up to 50% body diffused or absent body colour. If this was a clearbody, it would have AWFUL suffusion for one, and most clearbodies aren't that bad. 2. Clearbody normally doesnt occur in pet-types. 3. The wing markings are dark at the top and fade to a light grey toward the tips of the wings. Without seeing the rest of the birds body and wings, it is uncertain.- Where Have All The Standards Gone?
Just wondering where all our colour standars have gone? I can help type up some new ones if the other ones were deleted - Before And After Budgie Photos
I had the nicest hen, GF opaline cinnamon I think. Light Green. So pale and pastel then I have a photo of lime green and pale, then bright, lime green. She was stunning, she got away though. I will see if I can get some photos- Members Texas Clearbody Budgies
Thankyou Kaz I got the cock that was in with the lutino hen from a backyard pet-type breeder. When I was given the Lute girl and second cock later on as a gift from a club member, it turns out the two lute boys must be related! They definitely look related. Haha I just remembered I have another clear body in the aviary. I suppose more photos - Members Texas Clearbody Budgies
Thankyou! My violet hen is sick, so I wouldn't want to post a picture right now. TCB's are a forgotten and ignored mutation almost. I am looking at possibly turning to TCB's altogether. Here are the two boys- The only bad things with these little fella's is YF reduced the size, or takes longer to develop or something. Otherwise CUTIES!n - Green Tail?
Mmmmh. Interesting All my greens have blue tails, apart from my cinnamons I think- Members Texas Clearbody Budgies
I pair my clearbodies to Ino's to get rid of the suffusion. 50% Clearbody split Ino cocks, 50% Clearbody hens. I keep opaline in my clearbodies, I prefer them like that. Here is a site: http://www.bestofbreeds.net/al-nasser/article8.htm Here are my cocks: Opaline Grey-Green Clearbody Cock. Red Ring. Opaline Grey-Green Clearbody Cock with the Lutino Hen. Red Ring hen. These two have been... getting interested in breeding. Haha Eggs any day. I also have a Opaline Violet and another Opaline Clearbody Grey-Green Cock.- Members Texas Clearbody Budgies
Do we still need more? I can post a couple of my four.- Crop Needles?
Hello! I was just wondering what you guys think about crop needles for handrearing. I handrear birds for pets and I have always used a syringe. I have learnt about crop-needles because one of my birds is ill and requires it, but apparently it is also good for hand-rearing. I find with syringes that the birds dont always swallow it. you are also uncertain how much actually goes in, apart from a rough feel of how full the crop is. So what do you guys use? Does crop-needling take away some of the interaction form hand reared birds? Cheers Squeak- Sick Budgie - Urgent Help Please!
Well she survived the night, and she is chirping and flying around a bit. I tried to get some in her with a syringe, I am hoping that is enough. I am still fairly new to budgies, so I haven't learnt crop feeding yet. Someone may be coming around tonight or tomorrow night, hopefully to crop feed her.- What Is This Cock Split For?
Thanks Nubbly!- Sick Budgie - Urgent Help Please!
Hopefully she will be fine. She will be checked out on Monday most likely, if she survives. I tried to drop a couple drops of water in her beak with a syringe, hopefully that helps. I don't have a crop syringe, and I cant flush it either because I don't know how. Lets hope for the best everyone!- Sick Budgie - Urgent Help Please!
okay, I have Ronivet S and I am working out to amounts. It is 4g to 4 litres, so I am making up one litre with one gram in it.- Sick Budgie - Urgent Help Please!
Thanks Kaz. She is inside and warm, and I have some honey water in with her. I haven't got hold of any Ronivet S yet, still trying. - First Round Pairs
