We're Building An Aviary In The North
That is a wonderful job? Do you mean, that next time you will build a lock so that you can close a door behind you before opening the one into the budgie area?

Ella The Eckkie
Oh, that is upsetting! She is going to be a lot of work for her new mum. She will be worth it, though. Some lucky fella you got her from. Ella would be dead now if she'd stayed with him and his $450 gone. (Ella is luckier though - she got you.) All the very best to you and Ella!

20 Day Old Baby Budgie
I'm glad you finally read the link I gave you. There should have been instructions on the formula you bought. Handrearing food has to be warm - about 37 degrees. The food from the parent's crop is that temperature. Test the temperature of the food before you feed; you don't want to burn the chick. Check the crop; for as long as there is food in there, the baby is okay. The crop is the first bulge going down the neck. The second bulge between the legs is the stomach. The crop bulge may be the bigger one at times. Well done to keep the chick going. Do post progress reports. We care about Survivor. You've received good advice on how to stop the breeding. Do that. If you allow them to keep breeding, there will be disasters and may be not only for the chicks.
