Im So Confussed
If she is spending more and more time in the box then you might get an egg soon. A enlarged vent area is another sign. How long have they been paired up with a nest box?

Would Anyone Like To Guess At The Type Of Budgie....
I would say yellow face type two cinnamon looking at the throat dots. Looking at the back photoes the flight feather really do look grey to me, but I wonder if she is opaline as well. You spoke of pied, does she have a clear patch on the back of her head? Both cinnamon and opaline can wash some colour out. as to babies: Grey yellowfaces and blue yellowfaces.

My Lutino Hasnt Got Red Eyes.....?
She would be either a double factor spangle or a dark eye clear which is the offspring of a recessive pied gene and a dominant pied gene. Daz this is ringo's cheek patch, it can happen with both pied types: THe other is blue.

My Pair's First Batch Of Eggs
Normally four is a good number for them to raise but they can do more, I would suggest you get ready with some hand rearing formula just in case you have to help out with some feedings. And if all the eggs hatch only let the pair have this one clutch. You don't have to have them numbers as long as you have an idea or know the day each where laid and can calculate when they will hatch is alright. Checking for fertility is better done when the eggs are about 5 days old so you can see the fine red lines starting She should stop laying soon as by the time the ninth egg appears if fertile the first egg laid will hatch.

no worries I knew you did training. Still just a bit of a shock to me. I know I started too late with Ringo when she was a baby but with my first clutch I was afraid of harming them.

My Lutino Hasnt Got Red Eyes.....?
Yes I know the colour is really differant but the info on the side only lists one bird. So I think lgiht was a factor in the photos to change the look of the bird.

Marine and Tooties Journal
After getting back today I checked the box, wanting them both to get use to me checking at least morning and night, although I have check mid day as well. Nothing yet but she had dug in the wood shavings a bit and made a sort of well. Things are still moving onwards.

Phoebe is a blue recessive pied like Walt and Disney. And they are all so extra cute in the flesh Daz- I couldn't believe how placid Vagas was in your hands. I just remember Ringo trying to leap out of my hands at that age. Thank you for showing me it gave me my baby fix for a while now I think I can wait with Tootie and Marine a bit longer. :(Laughing out loud):

My Lutino Hasnt Got Red Eyes.....?
Please refere to this topic: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....wtopic=8137&hl= before trying to guess the mutation of this bird. The photo in that thread clearly shows the dark green band on the chest which marks him as a dominant pied as stated before along with the blue cere and the iris rings.

Una you will be happy to hear that they are still try to get this flapping rubbing niose down pat I saw them today once again trying but the balance isn't fully there yet. It was funny just after seeing that I spied Pie and Freckle again at it in the big cage about 2 minutes later It's as if they are rubbing it in Marine and Tootie's faces at how easy it is.

New Budgie
Never give up If you talk to him HEAP he still might talk but even budgies that get talked to at the age of 6 weeks might not talk. Use a simply word and get all the family to repeat it each time they talk to him, walk past, handle him and he might happily pick it up he might not. Good luck with the training

Add Another Two More Budgies!
They are most likly from show stock but not with any feature that the breeders are after for showing. No, they are always larger than pet type ones.

Black Budgies
The point it is hasn't ben documented. But thing over on the site alone how many breed budgies but don't know about genetics, then think of how many are like that out in ALL the world, some one could have a brand new mutation appear in their flock and not know it's value. I would love to have a black face they look so different and interesting. As to the first question yes many believe all black is possible in budgies, as to if your father in law did or not we can't say but I don't think you will ever change his mind about the fact.
