Handling Bady
Yes hndling them makes them use to humans hands and faces and vioces well just us humans altogether from a young age. We say 2 weeks becuase that is when they get the nice fluffy bodies and are able to hold their head up with ease. 2-3 time a days is about the normal for a max of ten minutes for hand taming training.

Weird Weird Mites
It does to me lin I just can't think of their name. Red mites?? They feed off the birds at night then fall off in the morning if have something to make them show up they look like red dots.

Diets
Yep, they are also getting it from hatching too. (or at lest after the crop milk stage.) So they have a taste for it. Egg and carrot mix was the first thing Ringo tried to eat by herself.

Mysterious Deaths
:(Laughing out loud): I have bush land (park and river) over the road. and it was only a one off a few years back (maybe 6?) and only a little tree snake too but boy did I jump when the 'stick' moved just as I was about to step beside it.

Weird Weird Mites
I think you need to get strong stuff from the vet. Stop the breeding now and let this lot fldge then remove the box and clean them out BIG time. I would think the ground and each and every bird needs to be treated.

Diets
The only way I got mine into it was the fact Pie was use to it and started to eat it when I started to convert them (this is when it wa just Pie and Freckle) After a while she tried it then kept him away from it :(Laughing out loud): I think now if i gave it to them like that they will eat it. In fact not sure now if my last statement is true, they prefer grated I think. When I tried with Freckle when young with carrot I had a small dish I put chopped carrot in and she turned it into a a game of 'empty the dish' :(Laughing out loud):

Question About Flock Behaviour.
(Laughing out loud) can see Freckle doing just that. But I haven't done a big change to the cage since.....i think when I first got it!! other than giving them leaffy branches to chew which made a different area of the cage the best spot each time and moving the food a bit each time they started to grumble over them.

All My Darlings
Thanks all :glare: All Australian! Freckle is a pet bird, Pie is half and half. Ringo and Marine are 1/4 show,3/4 pet (siblings from Freckle and Pie) Jangles and Tootie are show type birds. That depends My firend as asked for one and if she still want one she will get one. and i'm going to ask some other family if they want one. If no one takes the offer then yes I'm keeping them. I think so too. Yep, he looks just like Mum but his body is coming in blue (I think boy for him) She is hormonal. Want to mate with some one and the only one she likes is dad which gets Freckle in a huff. Not to mention I won't let that happen. But I have yet to find a partner for her. I was hope to wait to get the aviary outside before finding one.

Tango
I'm wondering about the spangle gene. I've looked closely at your pictures and in some you can see the feathers at the bottom of the wings are 'filled in' which you don't see in spangles. Plus not having the dot on the head.....well it would be the first spangle i've seen without it. I think the lightness on the wings might be down to the dilute gene. you can see what I mean here: http://photobucket.com/albums/e104/petguy/...nt=MVC-013F.jpg

Question About Flock Behaviour.
that could work too.

Question About Flock Behaviour.
Dang i was afraid it was down to something like that. Ringo still wants her dad now that little brother isn't around any more. Freckle get unhappy with they are near each other or when she is near Ringo. Sigh. Either I get another to pair Ringo to which I can't really do right now or put her or Freckle in a cage along, Pie hates being away from Freckle and Ringo hates to be alone also Frekcle likes the rope perch. I think I need to do a bit of rearanging of the cage to settle this a bit.

Question About Flock Behaviour.
I'm just wondering if the one on here with flocks (or a group of inside budgies) can help. I'm just wondering if any of your bird make the angry dophlin noise or a grumbling noise often? Latly mine seemt o be always screaminga t the top of their lungs to drown each other out with noise. I'm not sure if it's becuase the ones in the cage can hear the ones in my room. (yes both lot start the noise with each other) Or if one is cranky with others in the cage. Normally it's Freckle making the noise but it can be any of them. Just wondering if this is normal or I have have problem maker somewhere.

What Are We?
okay sounds like another recessive pied. I have a feeling this is a yellow face only becuase i had a pied that when young had grey on the front and a patch of green on the back. Now from the type 2 yellowface gene the yellow had bleed though and made all the patches green

Franks Feet!
I have my fingers crossed that you can do what you can. Yes the males will bob and sing to other males. I think it's a learning for hte young ones and staying in practise for the older ones The foot thing can be a dominace act or a breeding act. What colour is his cere? Also I was thinking this guy was an older bird, how long as she had him?

Diets

He isn't Platinum. That in fact is a term used in teils. He is either a full body grey wing or a clearwing.

Yellowface Vs Golden Face
:(Laughing out loud): I think I might get a few answers like that. Here does this help: Is this yellow face: and this Golden face: ?? Becuase we have called them the same thing yet they look very different.

What Are We?
so the blue is only opaline? I can't see anything else on the body like pied markings so yes I think so. why is the yellow one classed as a yellow faced grey recessive pied? Becuase you told me s/he had a grey patch and a yellow face. I cuold also see the bar markings around the eye and top of head. Where the patch is the small amount of bars lead to a recessive pied rather than another sort. if it was blue would it be blue recessive pied?Yes ive got one with blue between the legs and green on its back.. whats that? Good question. Is it the wings that are green or another patch of colour? Is the face yellow? Any chance of a picture?
