Is He Old Enough?
Olive is a green based bird with two dark factors. The babies can end up with one dark factor (to look like the normal green) or two (look like dad/olive) so you will get a mix.

Breeding Time
How what looks BC?? No baby yet I checked the egg this morning and the air bubble is still there, I'm a bit concerned about D.I.S at the moment I hope not but we will just have to wait and see, this is day 18 so there is a chance for it to hatch later since it's egg one.

Is He Old Enough?
The rest of this has been sorted ( I believe) so I will return to the question Most breeders set they birds up from the age of one year with out a hassle, some like 18 months more, but I haven't heard about giving larger babies becuase of the parents age. The size just like colours depend on the genetics of the parents, two small 'pet' type birds are not going to produce a 'show' budgie size kids. So yes your male is old enough.

Jess's First Bubby!
no it's not odd this just means the two egg between baby 2 and baby 3 are infertile. There is still another 4 days before the last one is due to hatch and I'ld wait another 5 days over that time.

Ill Or Stressed?
If the lamp doesn't get much hotter than a normal bulb it should be fine to use, having it on one side of the cage with different level of branches lets him find a comtable spot to rest. This helps them to stay warm which give more energy to fighing the illness. When you call the vet tell them the bird has been vomitting since yesterday, it might help you in getting slotted between others for the day rather than waiting. Wishes and good health being sent your way. Keep us updated.

Kriby it wasn't your fault, you did what you could, if I was in your shoes I would have moved the little one to the other nest as well with fingers crossed things would work. You did your best that's all that can be asked.

Kirby I'm so sorry to read all this okay I'm not sure but You don't have hand rearing mix yet, so lets improvise (just for now) I've read of some using weekbix mix but I think that was for older birds. Some warm water and a dash of milk (very little mmount) Sorry I don't know the ratio , Now you need something to use to get it to the baby, if you don't have a tiny spoon that can be bent to form a spout use a straw to drip the mixture into the mouth or even a cotton tip - once the ends are removed the tube is hollow (at lest they are here) This mixture will give some strengh to him to hopfully cry louder and Belle will start to feed them. Ohh actually I think Daz just used his finger to drop in the mixture.

Ill Or Stressed?
first we need to work out if this is vomitting or regurgitating. They do look different once you have seen them both. Reguritating is a gentle bobing of the head and the food kinda dribbles from their beaks. Vomitting does not look like fun, they shake their head around and seed flies all over the place and can also get stuck to the top of their heads, after wards the feathers around their head will look damp. I have a feeling what he is doing is Reguritating becuase of your comment" Single Males will often try to feed their bells or other toys.

The Others
No according to her ring she is already 4 years old, now if she was the boy like she was meant to be when I got her that wouldn't have mattered. Thanks all for the comments I love all my little ones. Dazz I'm so pleased with Poka, I don't know if it's becuase he is the only yellow in the flock but he really stands out and is very friendly with me now ever since he saw the others climbing all over me Sometimes he will be the first to hop on my shoulder.

Help In Identifying
if both parents are carrying one dark factor gene each, then a chick could end up with two making them the shade darker (mauve) but I wounder if your male has a violet gene.

Are My Budgies Going To Have Eggs
does the male flirt with with the hem? Does the hen take food form him? Do they do everything together? Does he chase her around the cage hoping from perch to perch?
