Not Flying Right
I am sorry for your loss. But 36" isn't very far. He would have to hit something hard. I am wondering if there might have been something else. A sickness that he has hiden that may have been the cause. My first bird died in 1 hour from looking ill to passing on. He ate some poisonous dried flowers we had in an arrangement.

The Mistery Budgie
Might be good to do our own breeding to see what the out come will be. I'll be pairing "malenistic" to normal and to spangle to see what the out come will be.

New Avairy
Three weeks from This thursday. Here is the current plan. Finish the stock cages this week end. Put the existing aviary on Ebay for 10 days. After sold move the birds and equipment to the garage and into the stock cages. Dismantle the old aviary for moving. (Most to be done by the new owner) When the new shed arrives. Build it. Fit it out and move the birds back in. While the birds are in the stock cages, I'll be re evaluating them and culling them. I have some chicks that have to be reassessed. eg they looked to be cobalt but have changed to skyblues. And of cause the mistery budgies.

New Avairy
No very happy at the moment. I just finished another night on the stock cages. I finished four out of the twelve trays and have fitted four fronts. I have taken some photos but there seems to be a problem with Photobucket. I can't access it to up load and show the work done. I now have two nights where I can't do any work at all so have to wait till Friday to keep going. One small problem two of my hens have started their second rounds. One has two eggs and a fostered one. The other has three chicks out of six eggs. I will be needing to move them in two weeks. Hope they travel well.

Spangles
Talking to a judge and brreder of spangles he surgested Sp x normal. He said you could pair sp x sp but it is best with normal. I am out to fine two hens, normal with very good wing markings.

The Mistery Budgie
you got it. Jaz is a Spangle. Karen you are breeding spangles. There are two types of birds that get the Head Spot. Dominent Pieds and also spangles can get it. It is infact penalised on the bench. Jazz is a spangle but there is also other things there. One of the state judges had a look at the photos in this section and has agreed that the chicks are spangles. Malenistic.. possible but the wing markings would have to be a lot darker. He is interested in seeing Jazz, her current chick and the others with white tails.

You say you found an egg. Is it hers or another hens? Hen also don't need a mate to lay eggs. Have you ever seen a hen that is laying? It might be a good thing to get her checked out.
