Ernies New Play Gym
They're able to rotate, but its a tight fit around the dowel so they won't move on their own.

Ernies New Play Gym
just another shot without the foliage that we add daily and a new climbing toy we made today. recipe: thinly slice eucalyptus braches of varying widths, bake in oven at 250 for 30 minutes to kill any nasties and then drill holes and thread over wire. And heres another work in progress: okay, the boys had friends over today and I may have got a little bored. :thankyou:

New Cage
Yeah I'd much prefer a cage of chirping budgies than the squwarking sulphur cresteds that visit us at this time of the year. They wake us up in the morining and the grunting koalas keep us up at night. Bloody Nature!!

New Cage
When we picked up Ernie, as soon as Angus opened the car door, he said "yep, this is the right place!"

Do I Need To Wash The Traps

Safe Woods...
I think Oregon is a good outdoors timber. It is actually a softwood, but much harder than pine. Our outdoor area is built from that and western red cedar, but all the wrc is all under cover.

Cosmo And Technology
This is where Ernie landed this morning, to check out the pictures. He then flew up onto the screen like Cosmo.

Do I Need To Wash The Traps
I've never washed them and always catch more mice. Do you find they kill the mice or just trap them and you have to kill them after? I've had to drown most of the mice my trap get and thus I don't like them much.

At What Age Is A Budgie Fully Grown
Thanks all. From the thread Jimmy found by Daz (thanks Jimmy, good info in there  ) they should measure 8.5 inches. Ernie is now still under 3 months and already is over 8 inches from head to tail (as good as I can measure before he tries to eat the tape measure anyway  ), so I guess that means he's going to be a big lad.

At What Age Is A Budgie Fully Grown
I have seached the FAQs and know when a budgie is sexually mature and emotionally mature, but at what age does a budgie stop physically growing. I read in the bush budgie FAQ that they get to be about 7 inches but what length do pet budgies get and what length do show budgies get? The reason I'm asking is Ernie seems to be getting bigger than any of our previous pets so I was wondering if he is following after his pet type father or his show type mother.

Should I Remove The Bell?
We were worried about Ernie getting to obsessed with one of his toys, a spiral rope with wire on the inside to hold its shape. He would go straight to it every time we opened the cage and just sit in the middle of it. So we decided to get another couple of toys and we were going to continually swap them over, but as soon as we put another toy in his cage he started sharing his time between his toys. I assume he just enjoys them and isn't so obsessed with the spiral rope.

My Aviary....start To Finish
Ah okay, that's good to hear because I think treated pine and horizontal galv make really good "Australiana" looking aviaries!!

My Aviary....start To Finish
Looks great!! Sorry if this has been asked before, but is permapine okay for budgies, or will they not be able to get to it? (Or is that not permapine?)
