  7. Hi Dean :hap: It sounds like a few people share your opinion of the current show budgies. I wonder if the power of public opinion is going to start to have an effect on the future standard of show budgies??
  8. Yeah they did have a name on the cage like that. They had 3 cages, I think 2 said that name, one banded and one unbanded and then pet budgies in the other. There were some good looking pets there as well, could they have been yours, Sunnie? One grey one in particular caught our eye.
  9. We just bought 4 chooks from a pet shop & garden centre on Morphett Rd Warradale and while I was there I noticed they have some really good looking show budgies for sale. Has anyone from that area just done a cull?

  12. They may have been show budgies, they are a lot bigger than pet budgies, which in turn are bigger than bush budgies. Again a photo will help the experts on here identify which one you have. There's a great photo by Melbournebudgies in post 7 of this thread that shows the difference: DIfferent budgie sizes
  13. Thanks Andrew, he loves millet and eats that out of our hands so I'll give your idea a go.
  14. Mine doesn't seem to like vegies. I've left grated carrot and diced broccoli in his cage but he hasn't touched it. I don't know if its because he isn't used to the new dish, but I can't leavie it in there for days so he can get used to it as I have to remove the vegies after a day. How did you get them to start eating vegies in the first place?

Bless 'em! Ernie seems to be getting on so well with everyone and is always willing to step up while out of the cage, so I'm thinking I won't clip his wings. Is this advisable?
  18. Our dishwasher broke recently, so it was straight down to the electrical store to get a new one straight away before the next lot of dishes has to be done.

  23. If it happened from bumping into something while flying then I wouldn't think the siblings would make it any worse. Here's Ernie after about 2 weeks or so.
  24. Liv left Ernie in his cage for a couple of days after his little misadventure to give it a chance to heal.
