  1. I got mine in '91 to build a new kitchen. If yours is old, then I'd love to see the current model! :yellowhead:
  2. Wow, I think I need to upgrade my original triton workbench for that model. It looks much better than mine!!
  3. I assume you've got him under the 25-40watt light?
  4. I'm really sorry to hear that Jimmy, hope he pulls though!!
  5. It hasn't taken up smoking has it?? That turned grandad's whiskers yellow...
  6. I'm certainly no expert, but the first thing the experts on here ask when a budgie is under the weather is if they have a messy tail pipe, so I'd personally err on the side of caution and take it to the vet.
  7. That's no good, what happened?
  8. Top left looks like alovera. It would be great if your budgie burns itself , but i don't know if its poisonous? Have you asked your mother what type of plants they are?
  9. How on earth did you mange to take that photo?!? It looks great!

Brotherly - sisterly love I hope! I've read so often on here about hens biting really hard, but Ozzie is the most gentle budgie we've ever had. Now that Ernie's moult is progressing he's getting back to his old self again too. When I go up to their play gym, he comes right up to me and jumps on my head. These are the best 2 budgies we've ever had by a very log shot!!

Just a couple of pics from earlier today. I think Ozzie is starting her 1st moult and Ernie is nearing the end of his. His colours seem so much more vibrant than before.
  13. Ah I see, thanks for the answers. Don't worry KAZ, Ozzie won't ever be bred with. She has her own bedroom err... I mean cage to make sure of that!!
  14. Can I ask an associated question. When you refer to a hen being "out of condition" as I've heard many times on here now, does that just mean they're just not ready to breed or does it mean they are unwell (or they've been sitting around on the sofa eating too much chocolate ) ?
  15. Haha!! They're classic, where did you get them from?
  16. At our last house I built what we called a "fernavarium". It was a shade cloth covered aviary with ferns and a small pond and we had finches and frogs in there. It was fantastic to go and sit in there. I had a sprinker system mounted on the ceiling and the finches hollow logs were above the spray from that. They all seemed to live happily together, but Budgies would have eaten their way though the shade cloth, I suspect. Perhaps keep the budgies in their current cage and do it just with finches. I'd like to build a new bigger one here one day.
  17. The only thing you'll be asked about at the SA border is fruit. They have even searched our caravan fridge and cupboards as you're not allowed to bring any in at all. I have never been asked about lifestock before. That said you might want to check out about their seed??
  18. When we picked up Ernie and Ozzie from Liv they both spent the entire 1 hour plus drive home glued to the front of their travel cage! It wouldn't have mattered much what the inside was like, we may just as well have brought them home on a tennis racquet!
  19. I've learnt to never pick on another person's spelling on a forum because that is the time you make a spelling mistake yourself  Psst, it's spelt "aren't"
  20. Haha!! That last answer has got to be true!!
  21. I guess there's not a lot of food left for them in the bushfire areas, could well be related.
  22. Well said LB! You show maturity well beyond your years!
  23. Wow!! I hope none of them come on here and see this thread. They'll think we're a bunch of moody ol' hens won't they!?
  24. Yeah, I'd like an update! I can't see why LB would be hesitant to tell us how she's going...
  25. I wish they'd ban cats in my district!!
