I've read on here that adding any other budgie to a talking male may stop it from talking as it will bond with that budgie instead of you. I've also read on here that one talking male actually taught a new male to talk, so it could go either way by the sounds of it.

Catherine, you're obvioulsy a leaned person can you answer this for me. Has the meaning of "then" and "than" changed and no one told me? I've read so many times on different forums people using then when I'd use than, for example: I like footy more then I like Rugby. I would have said "I like footy more than I like rugby" and save then for sentences like: I went to the footy then I went home. And not only but also too... Is it no longer correct to use "a" in front of a word starting with "h" like "a historic event" Even the media says "an historic event" these days.

I always get the plural of Attorney General wrong. For some stupid reason it's "Attorneys General" and don't get me started on "its" and "it's"!!

I thought you put the apostrophe after the "s", ie: the budgies' feet with Henry and I you just use whatever you'd use if you left off " Henry and" Henry and I went to the shops = I went to the shops Give it to Henry and me = give it to me

We've got a male and a female inside and the female is by far the gentlest and tamest of the 2 (although the male is also very gentle and tame too) and we haven't had her as long as the male. We keep them in seperate cages but they spend most of the time out of their cages if we're home and she sometimes gets a bit bossy with her brother, but never with us. I'm told she probably won't talk but that is of no concern to us at all. Admittedly they're both still quite young, but so far so good.

Its not a silly question at all and I asked the same question a while back after realising that I have never seen our budgies drink. From the answers in my thread, you know they trust you when they start drinking in front of you as that's when they're most vulnerable. I'm happy to report both of ours have drunk in font of me now.

Haha, they must have a thing for moths!! I don't think I caught it on video but before we clipped Ernie's wings he had a real dog fight with a large moth that got inside. I had to stop him as he was getting a bit careless after a while and nearly flew into the wall trying to catch it.

I had a Galah called Barney too when I was much younger! They do make great pets don't they!

I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem as when its turned off its a big black wall to your budgie, unlike a mirror which is a whole new room and possible escape path. Our flat screen has survived 2 young boys so I couldn't imagine a budgie would be worse than that!

Everything I've been reading up on agrees witht the stats Sailorwolf quoted. Another thing is they have absolutely no way of confirming how many cases of swine flu there have been in Mexico as they don't keep great records in the first place and not everyone would have gone to the doctor anyway, so there is no way of telling the mortaily rate of this flu as yet. It could be as low as .01% (or they might have said .001%, I can't remember now) which is no different to many other strains. There has certainly been a media beatup about this, but that has serverd a valuable service of raising public and government awareness. I think this flu will be delt with very effectively.
