  1. I am so embarassed to say it but here goes.......two more babies followed me home today..... And a Yellow Lutino boy who seemed very agressive toward the others and has been put in on his own but now he seems depressed, any ideas on what I can do? He also has a black leg ring on....
  2. Hi there, BUMBLE as in bumble bee? This girl still needing a name
  3. Thank you so much Neville, you have explained it wonderfully. You really are a man in the know. I am very pleased to hear the possibilities. And to everyone else for your advise too Unfortunately the Avatar bird in question "Ben" has F.M. and until I know more about F.M. he is in quarantine. I am not sure if I could breed with him and was hoping that maybe after his first moult his feathers would return? However the budgie I rescued the other day named "Bill" (thus I have Bill & Ben) (in quarantine also) would be a beautiful daddy once he has the all clear and I have spoilt him a bit!Unfortunately not great photo's below, his colourings are nice and bright! (Also not the cage he is staying in either).
  4. So will the first baby shown end up looking the same as the other yf 2?
  5. Here he is.................. Gosh I'm glad he pulled through O.K. poor little sweetie, that looked really painful
  6. I just have to wrap my head around what goes on when they moult and why their colours change? I plan to breed the unrelated pairs and I cant wait to see the bubba's!
  7. Kaz, or anyone else qualified, could you please tell me the correct types of Budgies they are? Thank you.
  8. Yay CONFIRMED!! Thanks Kaz! :sadsorry:
  9. GREAT! All my hours on here payed off. This site has been wonderful and the people so friendly and positive and eager to help, thanks everyone!
  10. Hi Libby, I also have a baby just like Paradise, came from a pet shop also, just today. I will try to re~create the effect if I can. Do you have any suggestions on what I could pair it with? My other birds are on this link:My pastel flock! And from the back:
  11. I went for a long drive today and collected together 4 beautiful babes for my new flock. I like the pastel colours and this is what I would like to accentuate in my breeding eventually (first timer). They are in quarantine as are the budgie and cockatiel I rescued the other day (seperate rooms to todays babies as well) and little Ben is in my daughters room, as he is her little buddy The photo's arent great as I didn't want to disturb them too much as they have had a long day of travelling. Here they are all together... This first one came from Portland and I think it is a boy? Please correct me if you think otherwise. He had only just left the nest in the last week or so. The next boy came from Portland also he is about 6 months old and was having his way with his seed tray when I noticed him, he is very vocal and energetic! Back: Front: The last two came from Hamilton, the first one has many colours Skyblue/tourquoise with green patches running through it. It didn't really photograph the best but are very striking, I am unsure if it is a girl or boy? In the middle: Last but not least a little pale blue and white baby that I think is a hen? Again please correct me if I am wrong... On left: One of the places I went had some lovely showbirds, as lovely as they were I had to stick to what I am aiming to achieve. I am aiming for pastel birds with as much colour as possible but no black. I also was tempted to get a couple that had a bit of black on them with up to four pastel colours on them, but I resisted! I spent enough money for one day!

Well maybe she will be a good mummy one day it seems she has a good instinct for it!

I'm pretty sure its a girl, I am new to all this but someone will correct me if I am wrong. The Cere seems to be tanned in colour whereas it will be bluish in a boy. When the boys are young they can have a light purple tinge. She is very pretty! As I was told when I first joined natural wood perches are better on their feet. Cheers, Trish.
  16. Charlie loves his greens!
  17. Thankyou so much! There are just so many grasses out at the moment it would be a shame for it to go to waste and if I show my children 6 and 10 they can help me! The birdies will be so happy
  18. Teee heee Uh oh gonna have trouble gowing this one!
  19. The grasses too neat?
  20. Thanks Maesie! Cant wait to put them in! Giving them a hose off now!
  21. Hi there, I have been for a fossic and am just wondering if these branches are safe as natural perches? I also collected a few grasses which I will photograph now and post here soon to see if they are safe also. Thanks, Trish. P.S. Just added the grasses, took me a while to resize to 640 x 480 on photobucket! My camera is bad at close ups will have to get new camera soon!
  22. Mice go crazy for Nuttella, I promise if you try it they can't resist! I also use the spring loaded traps from Safeways they are dearer but very sensitive and once they have a taste of Nuttella they have to get it all! Home brand Nuttella is fine too! :ratty: :purr: Ahhh I feel so evil! I really dont like mice though especially after one killed my beloved Buddy
  23. I went here: Glitterfly Website to make my avatar it is very basic as I am not great with photoshop. I am yet to make a signature....
  24. Thankyou Dave its good to know. I'll let mum and my little brother know.
  25. This is my 10 year old brother's budgie "Bluey", he was bought about 2 years ago from a breeder in Rosebud Victoria, who had some very beautiful budgies. Bluey has a metallic blue ring on his foot. He is the bird that likes to hear mum stir her cuppa and loves chatting to the Sparrows nesting outside!
