A Baby Is Hatching
the other chick in this nest...the light green spangle one...looks a bit cinnamon as well...will have closer look tomorrow....it's hard to tell because of the spangle markings, but feet look pink. I didn't really check for plum eyes only noticed red albino eyes and darker looking eyes...maybe they were plum eyes . well he is defenently split albino so...????? but cinnamon mm that one is a suprize to me i to thought the light green loook a tad cin as i looked again at chicks when you said the shoking news oh man im just hopeing its his dad thats split cin and hes passed it on i may need to do some investergating lol

Ino's 2010 Season
Good luck to you Ino, there is nothing like, aiming for the top. In the case of the $20 & $30 birds, its what in there background breeding. A lot of $20 & $30 birds, might not advance your breeding at all. Spangles, help in a lot of cases, with the recessive breeds. at the same time when your starting out if you can get hold of the right breed 20 to 30 dollor birds you can be ahead for a bit and only needing to but more expencive birds when you see what it is your missing yes this is my first year and yes i have a small stud so need to have only good stock birds to start with yes my nests arnt regulated and i get the odd smaller bird but most my birds are of very good size and substance i have breed some lovley birds and from good stock must addmit some my birds i payed up to 80 but 100 is most i have payed then i relized my cheeper birds were producing my better stock so i prommised myself not to go over 50 ever again and less if possable intill i need that somehing special i also am cutting my stud right back to few good stock birds and then keeping best of best chicks and having to cull rest even if good as i have limited room and if im going to get any where i need to get a regulated size in my nests which im achiving this is my third time at pairing and im starting to know what to pair for rezults i need and intill i get their i wont be wasting loads on a top bird thats me though intill my birds are looking as good i havent been able to show as yet as my birds all blue rung but ive had some great feed back and im happy to say im proud of my outcomes nothing wrong with starting with cheeper birds but you must know or see back grounds and must beable to trust breeder selling you them to being honest i always like to see siblings annd perents unk antys if can ectra shows me if birds are prepotant and if hens are better in that line than cock ect we all got to start somewhere ino and going to a sheilds and seeing the birds benched meeting the breeders in person is all part of finding good quality birds at low cost sure some charge heaps but others do not if you be patiant and look you will always get just what you need and vishion at the price you like and dont ever feel you need to buy something once you seen it even if its cheep and mabe good back ground if it even has one thing you dont like or need as you will always end up selling it later Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is the thing to do. I am just saying, Peter has proved it can be done. Another thing that interest me from Peter's interview was, and I quote. My advice is, buy the bird, not the name! unquote. that i agree on as i do this my self im not getting you wrong i too am breeding very good birds from cheep culls so to speak just takes bit longer but the success is your own in end so more satisfiying

A Baby Is Hatching
Thanks guys. It's my pleasure to share the photos with you. The lacewing clutch is my first show type pairing ever...so I really want to share my experience. Hey GB....what does it feel like to be a grandmum? I've got another surprise for you: your green spangle must be split to cinnamon.... um you sure mmmm well must have come from dad then as im positive mum was not cinnamon albino i bloody hope not lol if she is their goes my whole plan lol as all my albino cocks will be split cin and i defenently dont want that having enough probblems trying to aradicate it now grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr mum was albino masking normal and skyblue from what i can work out from other chick rezults and dad was spangle grey green not cin and didnt get cin hen so????? got two boys grey green norm your light green spangle and a grey green norm hen but i only paired them once as decided the size hens she through she was defenently my albinos next partner oh please tell me your wrong please please lol if thats the case could it be dad was split cin and passed it on to son im sure it can i hope thats what it is dam now im going to have to waste a good bird on a test breed to a cinnamon cock to get chicks i dont want to see if shes cinn or normal grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Beak And Vent Problems
`kaz is spot on dont give meds as yet all she said is true and correct i was not judging you so im glad you didnt take afence as i said also make sure he is eatting well to rule out not enough in crop he should be full after eatting or he isnt eatting enough just feel his crop once hes stopped eatting to see how full he is if hes not full try offer him some week bixs crushed up warm with water not to soggy just so he can nibble it make sure he has a big shellow dish full of seed to sit in and slowly pick at younger birds scurrage more and eat so solwley this may help to make sure hes eatting well just remove poos from it if he stays constipated it may pay to just give him a drop of cod liver oil or salt water to drink as will clean him out( enamma ) but first see how he is when you remove feathers from around vent and have cleaned him up if you dont know what seed he was getting just a plain budgie mix or even a finch mix as seeds smaller and softer to brake for young chicks and i understand your situation you just worded it as if it was here or their if it died good luck hope he is okay please keep us updated and yes most breeders do pride themselves on their quality of their birds its sad when they sell unwell birds to familys as pets knowing they wont survive cruel was from a market ????

Beak And Vent Problems
to clean him up is a start i would pluck the feathers off around vent myself so i could see whats going on down their and wash his beak i know you dont want to take to vet but if you have been around a vet for years and knolagable with birds how did you miss the first rule when buting a budgie ? bird CHEAK FEET BEAK VENT AND WATCH TO SEE ITS FLYING AND ACTIVE im sorry but its your fault not the dodgie breeder who sold him in first place as you should have cheaked him thourowly i always ask to hold bird before i buy now as weaight may look good but it could be all feather either be willing to pay costs needed to have bird or dont have i think your aditude is wrong sorry but one bird come paried to many i dont see the diffrents in paying cost if it dies you will most probbly go buy another one a good avian vet wont charge a heap and ever animal desirves the best even if it is just stuck in a cage in the corner i do hope you can fix him yourself may be simple as cleaning him up makeing sure he eats as he looks very young sometimes young birds get poo bums because they arnt eatting enough good luck but please if no one her can help you please consider vet again im sorry im not much help and all mouth but it anoys me people saying a animals life is not justafiable enough to spend money on to save why buy it in first place

Making A Baby Budgie Friend For Houman
thanks anne i myself didnt find it very interesting but i loved sharring the pics i got a new cam its a fuji s3000 so last pics are lot better although im still learning how to use it this baby is special but thats the same with all babys i hand tame i tame them all in diffrent ways acording to the needs of the people wanting them im as i said tamming another baby now but he is not out the nest stage and intill then things are bit slow mostly daily cuddles and stuff i would like advice though from any of the more experianced breeders who may just pop in to read this tammy /tommy has had a sneze since week two its just a one sneze every say half hour or even more sometimes i cant hear weezing or does he /her have any sighns of staining above the nose but i know he /she is bit under weather as is slowly bobing tail and lifting wings near rump area as breathing my question is what can i give him/her with out risking harming her/him to mabe get ride of the cold just i had a 2 x 3 month olds die of pneumonia resently and it looked to of had it for quiet some many months im thinking he may of had it from young also but i never picked it up as he was raised by fosters at another propity so i never had daily veiwing of chicks just peek few times so i never picked it up most likely got it at 7 weeks when they were transphered to my home as my aviry is more pen to draft (not now ) i dont want houman getting atatched and then out of blue tommy falls ill fast over night as hes had long term issue with cold he knows hes got a cold i have told him and explained he has to keep warm and out of draft and if no change in few weeks we need to seriously adress it but id like to adress it straight away poo is perftct hes livley and all but i know his got a little cold i looked everywhere for rasberry consentrate they dont seem to sell it in gippsland and i dont really want to give him a sulfa med inless i cant find something else that may work so anybody what do i give a baby with a cold anything or just warmth???? thanks gb please someone answer

Making A Baby Budgie Friend For Houman
well i took some pictures last night of little tommy tamara here his she is sleeping all over my bed and leaving me no room as was right in middle of bed then today i went shopping for him and got a bath for him /her so here is its first ever bath theirs just the smallest bit of water just covering stainasteel plate i think it tells its own story just love the well nowwhat mummy im all wet look lol so i can formally say that houman your welcome to colect your baby its eatting very very well tails growing in and very friendly its a total smoocher and loves company but use to being alone during school hours one thing its never even tryed to fly its had no need its carryed everywhere in my hand and feed in my hand put to bed straight onto perch after sleeping with me in my bed till late snuggled on blanket right now sitting between my hand and shoulder in the bend of my arm as im leaning on my elbow and holding key board just contented to be snuggled closely well my jobs done rest is up to you mate i really really hope you get as much pleashure out of this little guy as i have spending time with it its really a little darl im really going to miss her / him lucky i have two more to tame next ones for a previous client that wants a friend for a budgie i tamed a while back its not far from being able to come inside and spend day and night with me but just a bit little as yet ill get a picture of houman with his new baby if its okay with him when he comes to get it and then that will conclude this topic making a budgie for houman

Hen With A Swollen Leg
if you brought her from a breeder i would take back for their asistance if from pet shop id go to vet as you could damage her more yourself not being experianced at removing a ring with out swelling is hard enough with i wouldn't want to try it dave had good sugestion with the ivomectiom as could be mite as he said caused it looks like vet job or as i said if from a breeder go strat back for their help

Thanks Dave, i have her under a lamp and have been giving her a spinach which she loves to eat . i have decided to give her a week and if she does not improve i will have to make a decision. i am so hoping she recovers, she is a beautiful greywing. okay can i just say you need to move her feet for her ' in a rideing a bike motion for ten minits every day three times a day if her toes can move she has every bit a chance as getting better its notmally nerves near the top off legs and underwings damaged i wouldnt say head injery these nerve ends get damaged easily need more than a week if theirs slight improvement shok to system can parlize a animal for up to twelve hours keep warm as your doing food and water up to her good luck keep legs moving just like you would a human whos lost feeling to legs
