Hello
hello welcome i know im tad late but better late than not at all do you know what mutations you have or were you asking members help with them also your going to be able to breed a very large amount of variertys their with the mutations you have and the colours best of luck for a really lovley out come in your second year breeding try pairing your albino hen with your yf cobalt male depending on what shes masking depends on colour out come but what you really wanting is the chicks from this pairing all males will be split to albino so if you get a yf cobalt or skyblue cock bird then it will be split to albino what you want to do is keep the males from this pairing to use in youe next years pairing once birds old enough also pair your yf colbolt rec pied hen to the last bird the texin clearbody this will give you hens and cocks split to rec pied and all cocks split to clearbody get rid of all these cock birds and keep hens you will get also if lucky clearbody hen or hens if your lucky and posably yf ones both pairings will give you 50 percent chance of yf chicks if you then pair your yf cobalt to the rec pied hen and the clear body to the albino (swap partners ) you will get rec pied /ino cocks and hens/ rec pied this symbol / stands for split  and in the othr pairing you will get clearbody hens and albino cocks / for clearbody i could have it backwards it may be albino hens and clearbody ./ ino cocks not sure i have gone blank but how ever put thoughs split rec pied / ino cocks to the split rec pied hens from first pairing you will get lovley rec pied chicks normals and inos of lovley colours depending if you pair yf and norm or two norms depends on if you will get yf but chicks will be beautiful and suprize colours and mutations every time you can just keep adding mutations by knowing whats recesive and whats sex linked have lots of fun hun its a great hobby

Size Diffrents In Clutch (chicks) My Theroy Whats Yours
okay i though i would start a topic on size requirements of a bird and its (their) ability to produce chicks worth while alot of people are under belief that a big bird will produce bigg chicks this is not how ever so if the bird was breed from a smaller butwell breed lesser brother cock bird and a reasonably sized quality in all over look smaller than the sort after average to large hen then the out come may be very variegated example these two believe it or not are sisters the father was a grey green normal/lacewing cock very average to look at nothing much spesh about him and the mother was a more than lacking hen in which i saw a certain something other still can not see first bird people point at and say why ??? then i show them the chicks from three diffrent pairings with same hen one pairing a half pet show type opaline grey cock rezult 4 chicks two nice opaline hens two average cocks one hen i kept for my show line the other i have in my cull cage still as i always have seen something in her but wont putintoshow as shes not good enough culled cocks second pairing the above cock mentioned grey green/lacewing 3 chicks a huge grey green spangle hen a lute hen (cross over chick )nice long but small lot of potential for growing and a grey opaline spangle good size probbly never come of much kept the grey green culled both other hens third pairing a large cock bird from a average clutch of smaller chicks but very nice big bird chick out come well lets just say not one chick was worth even looking at the chicks must have gotten a double dose of the small gene and i sold soon as they were eating to pet shop didnt even bother with pics of growing as i knew from one week they were not stayingin my flock so three diffrent pairing three difrent rezults now the first bird was a bird from two good sized but nothing special show culls from pet shop he was not as big as mum or dad but he had all the qualitys needed for the show bench but size or feather the second cock was breed by our nubbly 5 hes a good bird with all the right stuff again smaller and wouldnt make a show bird for lac of size i have his half brother who is also a smaller bird but beautiful look perfect look and i had their mothers grandson also very small but breed from very good bloodlines (i sold him to lealotta ) all these birds had everything but were lesser brothers and sisters to nubblys other breed very good sized keepers i payed a modest amount for the three birds and was very pleased she took time to help me with transport and talking me through their backgrounds and blood lines as well as provide papers reaching back as far as she had recorded of the last cock was very big bird with not all the qualitys but the size youd expect would give nothing but big chicks only the two lesser cocks to the lesser hen provided a good return size wize and i ask you why ??? and i tell you as because the big bird was breed from big birds with not much in their back ground but big peronts he may of recived a gene for small from one of his peronts passed on rececivly yet got the big genetic making him large its the same with birds with small frountl rize can hold the big rise genetic and it can be brought out by breeding to a large over rised bird of oposed sex the small genes double up producing all small chicks in the cases above the birds were all breed from good background and birds their for when the genetics aregiven out one from dad one from mum only rarly will a bird get stuck with double small genetics and quiet often you will produce a stormer the diffrence between that and a normal big huge breed chick from not much back ground it its also got all the right features im not sure if any of this is makeing sence and if anyone wants to put it in a way others can and will understand please feel free too what im saying is i have alot of smaller but very well breed birds and i am getting very nice rezults in my nest and their regulated three good to one small so ut of 7 chicks 6 will be good one well cull straight from nest im just trying to give a insight how you can work your way up with out spending your life savings on your hobby / pashion for some and at same time get good rezults that you can be proud of and able to use to benefit your flock yes i will need to buy a few good birds soon but only as i want to substain my achivement not l have a count of 3 out of four good but hopefully incress this number but useing my own very nice breed hens not sure this will make sence and not sure it will even help any one but just thought id mabe start a descution on size and gentics and how much a roll they play with each other please how do you understand it to work the above is how i belive it plays out it is not nececerily true but from my breeding rezults its true to me ill hunt down my pics of mums dads and chicks show some examples may take a bit but ill get onto it and ill take pics off chicks just out and thir mums and dads you can see what you think about my theory

What Sex Is My Budgie?
he is lute cock bird id say he has got some kind of respertary problem or illness the green could of been due to the bird being marked for clear identification in the flock mabe he mared or she marked all culls and then kept them in flock till he could sell or petshop did to tell males from females not sure just a few guesses the brown mark above his cere is a defenent sighn of a cold or infection of respertory setting in or when this dark usually already set it he could also of been marked as been treated how old is your bird as i just noticed no iris rings its spangle so mabe its df spangle not lute in which case elly could be right in it being a young hen it does look lute though and like a cock to me but need to ask these things photos are hard to go by did you know what mutation he is did you get from a breeder or shop could be badley marked lacewing but its got cin spangleing so its spangled what ever it is and i say not well with what who knows a common cold most like

A Baby Is Hatching
yep, he is split albino. got 3 albinos or lutinos in this nest. the 3 youngest ones haven't got feathers yet as they are much younger. the hen stopped laying after 5 eggs and layed some more eggs the next week....that's the reason for the age difference. the cinnamons are a nice surprise for me. I hope for you that he got the cinnamon from his dad and not his albino mum. didn't want to upset your breeding plan. can you please explain why it is no good to have cinnamon in albinos? does it result in albinos with cinnamon markings? well some people dont really care and like to use cinnamon for feather then washing it out with double dark grey cock birds myself i do care i wanted to breed albinos with out cinnamon as yes it does give a slight suffusion in wings and sometimes spots which is a no no for judging at show big no no also shows up the blue sufussion also if bird is blue not grey i have been told conflicting storys on the cinnamon hen thing one i was told that hens ALBINO can not mask cinnamon so you will know if you breed a cinnamon albino hen and yet another person told me that that was cods wollop that albinos mask everything even cinnamon and its to do with the melemiam lightning albinonisum thinggy in their make up :hap: if you understand that myself personally i would rather not use cinnamon and id rather use deep black marked cock birds in grey also should try not to use grey blue birds as you can end up with blue chicks one may just be the only albino you breed that season from your split cock lets say and as i have found you need to make sure that if your going to be buying / albinos from a stud or auction you really want to try find out if their split to cinnamon or not as although you can wean it out its normally your best hens who turn out to be the cinnamon albinos grrrr my foundation for my albino line is in my view all the wrong elements hes grey blue hes split cinnamon split opaline and possably split to dilute as well as split albino his full albino brother as i havent had a issue with the chicks hes producing infact they are very good im not sure if hes split cinnamon but do know he would be split opaline for sure possably dilute also my probblem is that my grey although hes a great birds has given me nothing but cinnamon hens including my albinos all very nice and the albino is my second best albino chick but is cinnamon so yes i could use her yes i could breed other birds with her just cull the cocks but id rather not as with my memorrie id forget doesnt matter how many recorlds i kept id still end up being tempted to keep good cock knowing their split albino infact im sure the mother is also cinnamon albino i havent had any cocks from them ever only ever hens so but only breed them twice rezulting in three chicks cinn albino hen cin opaline sky blue and a grey all which i have two cull unfortunately as all beautiful birds but i really want to try wean the cinnamon out im going to pair my split albino grey to a dark winged spangle hen i have shes a cf1 bird see if i get better results if not i may need to use him for my cinnamon line in which i have not started as yet as been concentrating on my albinos and just breeding some big normal hens not in cinnamon a few have been Opaline though but thats fine so in the long run its you decishion but myself i say no to cinnamon albinos keep the cinnamon for your lacewings i say which at moment in time im also got on hold as for me to achive any decent lacewing chicks ineed deacent lacewing hens which i have not got so im useing my lacewing / cocks as normals for now intill a time i can get hold of a few nice lacewings as in size and i will be culling any lacewing cocks and hens till then unless their massive like fred was (just hopefully not deformed this time ) did i even awnser your question i dont know i think i just rambled lol sorry its late i should sleep mabe others would like to imput into SHOULD YOU USE CINNAMON IN ALBINO BREEDING AND >>> IF NO WHY FOR AND AGAINST be interesting to see what others say specially the albino breeders out their pt what do you say ??? mr hawk ???? lol anyone else rainman you breed albinos dont you ???? any one else
