  1. well my breeding cages will be going back in their only i will be wireing of a portion to stop birds from annoying the breeders the benefit of breeding in my aviary was that everyone kept chattering incoraging breeding behaviour in all stock
  2. Some people get real paranoid about cinnamons taking over the aviary This will not happen if you know your basic genetics and work with it. Also cinnamons are a vital part of most breeding and improving other birds and therefore to rid yourself of all cinnamons ( as some breeders do ) is taking some backward steps. My personal opinion only. PS some breeders do very well in showing their cinnamons even at Nationals level kaz is right i have a thing about cinnamons but thats only as i breed albinos but its not really an issue if you keep good recorlds besides one very smart man told me last nightthat if you dont have cinnamons you dont get good birds
  3. i was am still am in shock he had never ever meet me before only heard of me i saw so stunned i didnt really take in what he said but it was something to do with hed heard of my enthusiasm and thats when he handed me the book all wrapped up still in the cardboard casing i just was so astonished my hearing went and i was wow the bird he gifted me blew me away but when he handed me the book i was still am totally blown away hes the most beautiful yf boy cobalt what i been after for a longtime now im so fussy with my yf birds i couldnt find a decent one i liked so this is like the best gift ever it makes up for all the **** **** stuff thats happened in my life lol thats how much it meant to me one very beautiful thought one very happy over ecstatic bird freak now to  it all
  4. Thankyou very much...........I needed that  Here is a slideshow of the puppies as they were last night leanneR you are spot on kaz shes right but you know that follow your gut its never failed you before has it ???
  5. well im just a bit lost with all that but my plan is to leave front totally open when i install my new fake walling and have opening doors on the sides so can open right up in summer but shut sides in in winter im under the belief that draft is bad as but ventilation is very necessary so its just survival of fittest maybe the ones who cant cope as well i will keep in a housed area inside shed not sure yet fix aviary first then see what happens i got loads of help from my club members last night and i was blown away with the generosity of one member who had only ever heard of me before and yet prezented me with not only a beautiful yf cock bird in cobalt but also with the budgerigar book by rob Marshall im like acing in the face from smiling i was like really i almost dropped dead from shock im still stund all i can say is thankyou so so so much paul if you ever read this   words fail to say how much i appreciate your kind and very thoughtful jester i will never forget
  6. well my thoughts are clearwing is right in one sence but as far as flight goes they definitely need to fly so im not sure about the holding cages unless you had them in one pair per one cage but i still think they need to be able to fly freely my birds love to fly spastic around the aviary and its sad seeing them all in holding cages at moment even though its for them now best as for birds with massive feather and size i truly belive some breeders are going to far were breeding budgies not monsters kaz im with you on the thoughts of these big breeders with heavy breathing birds that look more like pugs than budgies yes i aim to breed nice exhibition sized birds with nice feather over head and direction across the face but not to point where birds actually unable to be a bird and not fly some breeders succeed in the quality and size with out it effecting these birds normal function i hope to be one toughs breeders i think birds need to stay warm as clear wing said but also i do belive they need to fly but they do seem happy in holding cages so// ??? but for now im sticking to trying to regulate a aviry with good temp so they can freely fly food and nutrition is big part of it all and i know quiet a few breeders specially my way who use heating mabe why im having problems as i dont

okay mabe haden doesnt know much about budgies and thought this was a breeding cage lets see a picture please mate as this is just a cage to place one bird for showing not to breed birds in a breeding cage needs to b at least what kaz said
  12. they get sun when ever its sunny as the green shade mess walls come down everytime suns out besides i know birds never seen the light of day and not supplemented with anything but good seed and vegies and are fine and i am sick of reading that don Burke article lol read it like one hundred thousand times now as for your thing dean please im stressed enough with out thinking their got some unknown bird respertory probblem which i know they dont if they do its from the black saturday fires where they had to spend 2 weeks in full on heat ond smoke till i could evacuate i thought that may be a bit of the cause i haven t brough in alot of birds i culled to keep numbers down not to add more and all birds they not snizzing any more and are verigorous and active as wont shut up its got to be this condensation thing im going to try and do splats suggestion i will just see how i go with a few birds to start then if all seems well add the flock i will keep you up dated anymore help or sugestionss still welcome and dean when u find the whole artical let me know thanks mate
  13. it is freezing here maddy my aviry is 10 feet by 10 feet and yes just removed panels and made frames and mess to fit it is good little set up just needs fixing lol fits about 150 max but i will only keep 80 to 100 compatibly
  14. kaz eggs raw are best thing for dogs keeps coats shinny and the protin is good just one a week though lambs fry is great for dogs with puppys dogs not to much as is rich in vitamins all she would need so could give runns lol as would the canned food you can place it mixed with her chicken and she will love it cook it well as we would eat it WELL I WOULDNT onion is bad for dogs but thats always been known fact feed her normal diet chicken rice with garlic is great add some livers or lambs fry you have perfict meal new vet good move
  15. almost right shes a df violet norm/rec pied well thats all i can think given her spot on head srunk as she grew to a rec patch not dom but cute all same
  16. i did think of this dean but why would the vets not be on to it 5 birds autopsied the last one i actually got put to sleep after testing then had special micro autopsy done and im in australia vic and the last birds i got are still in quarrenteen and only two are actually for me my birds are all fine and stop dieing when not in aviary they only seem to start to get unwell and start dieing when they are in and it only takes a few weeks for me to see the change from good to bad as with when i take them out it only takes two weeks for birds to get healthy again and back to normal id still be very interested in your information though its not impossable i guess but youd have though one of the two vets would have picked up being avian and all
  17. spend the money for the tests its the only way to know for sure their not that stressful 5 to 6 is not that old they can live to ten to 16
  18. Wish I could meet you there but I think airfares from W.A. would be more than $150 Hey Kaz you said you would come to one this is it lol.I have heard BIG DOLLARS is what you need and lots of them Too many vets fees of late to be spending up on budgies. If I really want any I have a mate or two who can bid for me BUT might give it a miss this time. im giving big wide berth no way i would be able to afford any birds from their im not prepared to pay more than 150.00 on a good and i mean it want to be bloody supper albino but then if it was as good as i want it would go for more auctions are for people with money to burn and a picture of their stud in mind to better their stock with a few good birds yes you can get bargins from auctions and good birds under or around 50.00 but i dont think that will happen at melton auction i heard same as splat a lot of money tossed around their i dont have money to burn or a good stud to better as yet anyway i got to fix houseing before i get more birds im loving the watson birds  always have
  19. give her a bout a month to settle in if she still looks like a stunned mullet get her a friend but you could talk her around with treats check out the taming threads so come around some dont
  20. so i can actually line the out side rather than the inside mmmmmm okay so how does that stop the condensation on the inside ?? i thought the tin was what caused it so had to be covered from inside i have here now untreated pine planking i was going to line roof with this and put that silver and blue instillation stuff in their which i also have but i then thought if it gets wet it may rot and my birds may eat through the pine where it joins at each plank how thick is the plyboard cause i have that also and canit get wet reason i ask that is if i ever need to clean out whole aviry if some kind of infection got in and as every 6ix months i do a scrub down top to toe cement sheeting i can get that free also would any slats do to lay on top itys just as cold and windy your way as it is mine if not worse so thanks splat would you have picture flotting about i know your cams stuffed but a old one mabe ???
