    welcome home
  2. well its been a while im still not to motivated none of my pairs really worked its the cold weather i think most chicks died before hatching i have three chicks in the shed out of 30 something eggs very very bad odds my albino ended up being a hen after all so but still a good albino ill grab a picture today of her as im going out into flight and im going to cull and pair up some more birds different pairs ill put up the pairs i do when have all done and dusted i cant wait till spring
  3. put a peaice of red gum in their she will make her own nest and this will also give he a insentive to sit the whole cycle thought just a peaice about as round as your hands making a circle or love heart with your fingers and a foot long she will have to chew the nest if shes not ready she wont chew it out and isnt really interested close the nest box off if you try this
  4. no such thing as to picky because if you settle for anything less than you need/want then you will just end up single yet again so....... me i would ratherbe alone than be unhappy yet together with someone just because its better than alone as to be honest that can never be better and id much rather be alone if you can understand that woopo hee hee i know what i mean so thats okay im also ace dave however not as ace as you as i cant spell aoursome like you can i can only sp[ell ace so im only ace
  5. im just to much for anyone person to handle mmmmmm maybe i need a few good men ????? they could feed me grapes and pour my vodka and all the other realistic things men should do for you , lol see their that's my problem i dream to much and no one can come up to my standed's on a truthful side my experiences have not been really anything to crow about, so i guess its my confidence to be able to actually tell anyone i like them takes a long time sometimes years even ,that keeps me single as im afraid ill just get laughed at or by the time i spit it out their found someone to enjoy their time with i am also very happy with my own company so i can afford to be very picky about people and their morals standards personality's how they treat others how they are around others different situations how they cope lots of things go into account with me so scrutiny is a big bad on my side as i am looking for a certain thing and until i see it i will stay Happy single even if that means forever and Dave i always liked you for whom you are, i didn't think you were unattractive nothing wrong with cuddly either it is good however your doing something to improve yourself if that's what you feel you want or need to do im just one though;s people i guess that just figure the right one will like/love you for exactly how what you are and look like however you tick most of the acquired boxes a lot of woman look for Dave regardless of your weight and you will find that with getting to know someone and just the feeling better that comes with that, weight usually drops off giving that extra boost of self confidence again your.. smart, funny, secure ,pleasant to look at happy to help out others when possible however put yourself and family first you have something you believe in use your ability of knowledge to teach one of our most important future things ..... our children , better yet you actually like children im simply putting forward what i know and see of you im not suggesting we hook up but if i was in your area you would be a candidate to go out with i think you would be an enjoyable person to go out and do stuff with however im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not your peaice of cake even if you were close to me hee hee but did use to enjoy a chat with you here and their when i had msn good luck in your plight to happiness and healthiness my friend
  6. im sorry but a bad point to that flight being the door you are going to lose birds from that for sure this is more a cage suited to larger parrots eg a tamed cocky or a elector tame teal so on as soon as you open that to lean in to change food or cheak nest or so on you will lose birds out door you will need to build a little safety room first before anything else a net covering your body would not work would anoy you big time so i say look into making a security area also i say if your going to breed colony in that expect alot of death its to small two pairs would be all you could breed in that together nests being on opposite sides of aviary
  7. isnt everyone lol hard to get good olives or dark greens
  8. hello and welcome wow let me get my head around all that first of all you can not say your birds are unrelated if you are breeding colony as you have no clue as to whom fathered whom so you can forget about the im not breeding related birds to start as you may of started off with none related birds however depending on if you have been breeding for a year or more than your birds could possibly be already inter breed and you really need to remove all chicks from flights that have breeding boxes until they are one year old or you will be encouraging birds to breed to young like starting at 6months or younger a bit bit no no for them okay now lets start with food oranges /lemons once a week carrots every second day silver beet or spinich every third day egg n bicky mix dry (yes they love it just put in bowl next to water ) personally if your going to make a breeding room then id just rest the birds till then stop the breeding take out the boxes and re start breeding when its all set up then the questions about the chicks can be answered properly as to be disturbing colony breed birds is really just asking for issues if they are not killing eachother or fighting or killing others clutches let things be till you build your breeding room you wrote so much i need to look at it all again but id just stop everything and rest them then start with breeding them in the bird room seems your giving them all thats needed maybe just not any greens why chicks are dieing of being under fed or other mums stopping mum goinging in to fed could be any number of things to be honest so not even going to go their as if its not controled breeding you cant have a clue what couldbe wrong sorry but sounds like your going in right direction with building bird room
  9. i know how you feel its hard being only one to do it all and when birds come down sick its even harder 'ive almost chucked it in few times due to the negatives the show birds that is but all in all when they are healthy they are so worth every effort so when they are not i really try to keep it together but all the separating cleaning medicating worrying and no sleep can get you down and the lack of money it all very daunting good luck hun my thoughts are with you
  10. no question is ever stupid you should read some the things i have asked or even said for that matter yes dom pied is dominant genetic you will get 50 /50 in nest normal and dom pieds depending what hen you put him with depends on what else you get the yf hen you would get yf at 50/50 also as its a dominant genetic also

  13. hi guys my daughter named her bird C H I N K Y chinks is doing okay tonight however he is not what i would call the best im not sure if its the stress of going from the out side flight inside or if maybe chinks has been a tad under the weather but tonight i fed him with a crop needle as he seems very skinny for his age and considering hes been in flight 3 weeks now he should be flying strongly however hes not but i did bring him in due to i wont be breeding him as hes a sky violet/ino and as i noticed in nest he had weak wings something i dont want to breed into my stud he is however happy and healthy all other ways preening and chatting he can fly just not fast or strongly and rather than fly up wards he tends to flutter down then just before hitting ground continues up wards hes not good landing either but hes very finger friendly and steps up already so im sure will make little shadow a great pal (and me ) but shhhhhhhhhh dont tell her that as im not allowed near him apparently oh unless hes sick or dieing im told

  16. but if you want her to talk best to seperate so she has only human company and will crave your voice and want to mimic you with another bird it can happen but really less likely to as she wont need two talk as she will b contented
  17. Well, GB, I'm still sticking with the advice you gave me back in the fall, to give them carrots, greens and orange every day. And no random, unexpected things to throw them off when they are breeding. It's been very consistent since then, so I'm hoping I will have good results. I'll let you know next time they have chicks, if it makes things better. that would be good it should as that was the advice i was given by one of the best just my memory is so so bad finne i really dont remember what i even told you now to a t just random bits so i truley do get worryed ill over do things however in saying this i have been just going with my gut instinked and things are looking good nubbly my birds did the exact same thing due to to much acid lost weaight couldnt gain weaight but are now all good i have given them a orage and lemmon few times a week and carrots on the off days freash seedling grasses to boot
  18. also you asked where the birds could be getting them from worms have cycles they are like skale mite if you use a recommended treatment yet you only do it once every 3 months then you have not killed the pest its like the cycle of a flee on a dog first you give dose this kills adults but not eggs then the eggs hatch in 6 weeks and you have more flees so you must treat dog in 6 weeks to kill young flees before the grow to egg laying age then you redo in 6 weeks to make sure the flees that hitched a lift didnt lay eggs before they bite dog and themselfs die why they now have many treatments to choose from for flees same as birds and mites and worms so you must find out the one that kills all the cycles ivermectin their is also two types sheep and cow i personally use the sheep one and although ive been told by nubbly who knows everything about it that the cow one is the one to use i feel uncomfortable about using one that is not allowed orally to birds so the sheep one you can give orally or on back of neck i myself do on neck however i know others who do it orally they only need treat their birds once with it me i treat mine once then 2 weeks after to catch any worms that may of hatched after the first treatment ' then i do every three months once been in my stud for while chicks get once then two weeks as well then when they are three months after molt so go see your vet avian have a chat get on book now before you really do have an out break of something and cant just ring and order things to be sent out from them as if you have birds sick and you know what you need to treat them you are on books so can call in order pay via bank and get stuff sent out its great no more visits with consultation costs again to be told what you know already but that first one is a must for everyone even if your bird is not sick saves time money and lives this way
  19. yes that picture is of it as a youngster hasnt molted their so new updated one could be different jets right

  22. im only going to say if all the members of your club jumped off a mountain would you follow ??? birds have many wormmers available but the most effective for both mite and worms is ivomectin (i cant spell by way ) so i suggest you make a vet appointment with you young hen get her checked out for crop and poo tests find out for sure if they need anything as you can od your birds on stuff causing them to be sick and get some ivomectin and treat the birds with it as for the bay cox in water for cocci that is how its used but their is two forms one for pidgons and one for cows both are used at diffrent does raits for budgies but only vet can suply either of these treatments to its propper rate of dilution so dont risk what others may even if their birds seem fine club members can only speculate on what your birds may have as can we for cost of little you could save lives and money on whats needed nothing more good luck
