Megabacteria
hi and first welcome best advice i can give is go back to vets ask if you can either buy or borrow a crop needle to medicate them with or im sorry but your birds will slowly wilt away if they dont get the correct dosage crop needles seem scary but are infact quiet easy to insert and use so long as you go in towards the left but thevet should show you exactly how before sending you home other im sorry thats the best advice i can give you bar dont give anything but seed as they will draw moisture from it take water away for the whole time dont let them have access to any but the times you medicate them good luck hun

Hen Plucking Chick
im sorry but did i read you put chick back i would remove mum and let dad raise the chick as suggested if you ask then dont listen why ask in first place the hen may kill the chick before end of her next clutch and i think you should let dad raise its only few more weeks till its fully out safe then put mum in for next round when bubby is safe or keep on with what you have done and risk your only buby to death

Quality Birds Wanted
i never spend much on birds the most ive spent on one bird was 250.00 and i gave it away before i even breed as i realized realistically i would of had to put it over every hen in my shed to even achieve anything worth while out of the poor bugger so i moved him on to someone with that bloodline right through out their stud i hope hes helped them out so however im extremely blessed also with being helped majorly by quiet a few breeders (in and out of state) their whom i truly do appreciate what they have done and do for me im lucky to have them to ask or turn to if i need support and few people in my club are very suportive of me also it does truly make the hard yards seem easier hearing their story's and advice ..... i am a bit picky and im still learning what a show bird needs but at same time im breeding to a look i like its a hobby to me Taz not a competitive person myself more like the socialization side of it minus a few whom wouldn't know what that meant and as you said are competitive beyond normal bordering on compulsive cock heads but you get that type everywhere if i ever make it anywhere with my birds it will be the long slow hall and im completely happy with that yes be nice to get up their but its not a need just a passing thought here n their really their are alot of breeders with great birds at very resonable prices its a matter of asking really

Quality Birds Wanted
lol thanks fordmob im half their i won the cheese n fruit platters and got few place in the two shield selections in the top ten this year (ubc and young birds )still have to try out the adult and as for the nats well thats quiet a way off for me yet however if i show in the same classes as you ............its no big if i don't win just another challenge to have to take on and since your going to be buying into the big lines well im guessing it wont be a hard challenge on your behalf to beat me but thats fine because part of the joy for me is actually shaking the hand of someone whom deserves a win its good to see that smile on someones face when they come first place and if im the one coming second to that then i still win hope to see you around the shows be nice to meet you put a face to the name

My New Budgies!

Quality Birds Wanted
hey lol thats my plan (DREAM )you can have your book though ha ha ha only mine plan started like 1. Breeder i chose helps me out by selling me some lesser culls from his /her quality line 2. Firstly I win a few cheese and fruit platters then place in the top ten at shields win a shield class and then bird be chosen for state team 3. I win its class at Nationals 4. My birds become known as good stock birds, i sell some, buy in a fantastic out cross and start popping out pre potent birds and start winning on the benches more and more my eye becoming more trained year by year making my birds sort after then i upgrade my aviary with the sales of my birds and my birds love me even more and produce well for me and my dream has been achieved you can right the book i only want to make it for me not to be famous and im sure if you truly want all that even though i read a hint of if only im positive it will be achieved i know i will achieve it only will be some time yet but will happen maybe not the national bit but having birds not only i appreciate the value of but others can also appreciate the time Ive put into working with them to achieve an overall look in my complete stud some many years off as i said but i got at least 50 or 60 years left in me im thinking splat Geoff is exactly whom i was going to mention he go see lovely man and great birds well i think the club their would be more than helpful i should think

My New Budgies!
oh okay sorry i though was the pied you found as the way you posted pics them so you have not put them together and i suggest you do not it looks like a mauve normal its not opaline the pied is it dont look good so he should be handled last after feeding your other birds and 5 meters out of their range seems to have signs of respiratory issues with the brown staining above cere THE BLUEY THING and he is by looks 5 to 6 months keep him warm and put bit of citrus( lemon ) in his water just a squeeze for few days get is gut leavel back to norm after being free could have bally ache due to eatting what ever he could hes tad hunched sign of gut ache

My New Budgies!
quarantine i think you may need to look into it a bit if your going to add to your flock or you may just lose them all they are both pieds he is a remarkably beautiful boy a Opaline yf (if hes golden face his not finished molting could be still going to get more yellow suffusion through him and he will turn green ) he looks still around 4 to 5 months old im going to call him as a combination pied so possibly split rec pied (does look like a clear flighted but not many them around so ) you will find out if you breed him with the hen you chose as she is as you stated rec pied also a Opaline im guessing however cant fully see their backs so you should get rec pieds as well as dom pied chicks if hes split to rec pied all chicks will be Opaline if shes Opaline as well if not then she is not Opaline and their chicks will be all cocks split for Opaline, Opaline hens and normal hens did you try find his true home ??? as he may be some small girls only much loved pet but then i guess you have decided that you will be keeping him now regardless of if anyone's looking for him after all he is beautiful and you brought him friends you have the budgie bug now good luck with them all, hope no one is looking for him with hopes of him being re-nighted to them

Avalon House -The Fox Stud-Gb8-Show Birds
well thank you pride for you compliment however i have years to go before my birds are of stranded to be winning major trophy's and fordmob its great to see you getting back into the birds i think as much as it is sad at times its what holds me having the birds their so winners or just pretty to me its really not at the moment a biggy this will change when i feel that im ready for the put downs of other not so good sports out their but right now my experiences with hearing some of the things other breeders say about eachother out of spite well im just happy to slowly plod along im sorry guys i really should continue on with this thread, just spring has sprung( well almost) and im busy coming out of my hibernation and getting the home nice and sparkly clean also i absolutely hate photo bucket but ill do an update soon with some pics but with out pics ive put up 17 pair 16 really as one pair are just raising the young after second round 1 skyblue my self breed hen to a mp1 df dom pied skyviolet 2 eggs to date 2 white df spangle self breed to a colbalt hen cf1 3 eggs to date 3 cinnamon grey hen rc6 to a opaline grey dom / cin mp1 4 grey possably / lacewing my breed to a opaline light green mp1 4 eggs to date 5 yellow face cinnamon violet opaline spangle s1 to a albino cock bird jg2 6 double factor yellow face rc6 to opaline yellow lacewing sr1 hen 7 gng breed opaline yellow lacewing to a lovley cinnamon grey opaline cock bird no ring 8 my own breed grey green possably split lacewing to a opaline yellow lacewing sr1 hen 2 eggs to date 10 my own breed grey green possably split lacewing cock to my own breed grey normal hen 11 my bred dom pied grey hen to my bred cinnamon sky spangle 12 my breed albino hen to a agf cobalt /ino no ring 13 my bred hen albino to a grey / ino /op /cin jg2 3 eggs to date 14 my own breed op spangle grey and my own breed sky blue spangle /cinnamon boy 15 a cinnamon spangle hen (splat hens daughter ) to a gng white lacewing cock 16 sky blue spangle cock bird mp1 to a my breed opaline light green hen i also have an albino and a clearbody and a light green and a grey but not sure they will actually do anything so .... i paired up on 3 different days as to spread my work out first lot on the 13th july 6 pairs then on the 19th july 6 pairs then the rest on the 25 july this way the birds are staggered and its less over whelming for me to clean each lot of cages and i get to injoy each clutch as it grows as they are all spread out to hatch diffrent weeks to date i have 14 eggs 17 albino hen my own to a opaline violet grey /ino jg2 (this pair is just finishing raising before a rest ) so thats it im just breeding for variety numbers at moment not so much for show prospects

This Is What Happens When Birds Don't Like Each Other
yes well i have a really nice albino cock bird 06 boy that every time i put him to anything they attack and try kill him poor boy no one loves him so im going to let a hen pick him in flights and just toss them together as he really is nice they just hate him 4 times now ive saved him he is a bit of a sooky lar lar but 4 times maybe hes a real **** to the ladys lol in bird splat if you put them together you may strengthen the fact that they have short masks in the chicks or is it just the shot that makes them look short
