  1. they all look good mate how many chicks all up in end ????
  2. well i dont know about his blood lines but his look would do better with her than cecer but thats me  i would put her to the grey then one their hens to cecer then from cecer and the grey chick i would put a albino hen to the grey cock again and if you get a split grey cock most like dad from the grey and albino pairing i would put it back to mum (the origanal albino hen )and get more albino hens from him and cecer that way im sure you will have a good plan though dave good luck i will be watching your albino breedings closley with interest
  3. nice job shannon will you be breeding this pair again ???
  4. i would use the grey boy first he is perfect for her then as you say use the best grey hen from them to cecer to get your albinos then, then you can breed his chicks from that to the albino hen and a albino hen chick to the grey cock again getting more related splits then the posabilitys are endless
  5. I also purchased an albino hen to put to caesar in the hopes of getting some albino cocks She comes from a blue background. You can see the suffision when a picture is taken with a flash Stay tuned to this thread for some more updates!!!!!!!!!!! dave i would try putting a grey into that first or at least put all chicks to greys after you have achived some or you will end up with blue albinos everytime the sun hits them nice long mask dave shes just young still isnt she about 10 11 months ?? may i ask what breeder she came from or you rather not say which is fine thats allowed
  6. think he would survive a flat pack lol he is very nice shannon what was mum again i cant remember
  7. You were mostly right . BUT a DF Spangle will produce 100% spangles..........no normals. its all good shannon i got it wrong and i knew the result lol it happens this is great pairing she complements him very nicely kaz do you know if he is masking opaline or is that a suprize yet to find out ???
  8. you will get your five possably even 7 if i remember rightly this was one kazzys hens so.... but best foster mum ever if you ever need her i will show you how to do that one day for now enjoy haveing a mum that knows what to do your chicks will be so fat with food in crop are mum and dad totally in love as she usually falls head over heels in love the more in love with the cock the better she raises her family
  9. I SERIOUSLY doubt the RSPCA would do a single thing if you complained to them about this. We have a hard enough time at the best of times getting the RSPCA to see to genuine complaints about birds. thats so true and the fact that liv is not being cruel their for animals having quality of life so....... liv gets a tick for everything in the right places
  10. well i took really good look just to make sure like i thought in first place my cock is a cock feeeeuw just my phone cam sucks
  11. i will be kaz but they still pet type will be keeping albinos for pet line what ones in particular you sugesting i keep?? here is the others
  12. thats fair enough i didnt think you were trying for more lol and i do see where you are comming from liv i didnt think you were going to just hand out feather dusters to people so they could experiance it but ...it dont matter its all good i cant explain what i was trying to say so i will just zip it
  13. see that is something i would not do so just goes to show you our diffrent opinions and yet i exept that liv feels they make great pets as im sure they would but in my opinion that only premotes people to want to breed them for this reason KNOWING LIV IS NOT MEANING OR WOULD SHE DO THAT but their are people out their willing to do anything for a dollor and if people started see these geneticlly mutated birds (as thats what they are ) in veiw of being great pets then no breeders would try to stop the breeding of these in their flocks and just sell them off as ..pets this i would not do weather its so others can experiance the joy of carring for them as it may be a joy in their personality but not a joy to have to daily clean ,bath ect they would come at a price of time and worry i would say more than enjoyment to have around as pet i understand what you are saying liv but i still myself would not allow others to care for any in future as i said i would simply cull them from nest and the breeding birds i would move on dont care how good they were as for it not to reacquire it is a genetic fault after all not something anybreeder desires well i for one would not
  14. i know this mate i will be in breeding game for some time so ... your year will get better as will your stock your cock bird looking any better to day getting back on subject??
  15. so her is my sh9 -08 hen and her albino jg2-08 cock only im thinking my cock seems to be looking henish what do you guys think im hopeing its just the fact he is molting and nit in condition i do remember kaz once saying she has never seen a albino cock with a fawn cere before when he was first brought mmmmmm i wonder if he ends up a hen im doomed before i start   well just means i will need to save and get another good cock hopefully mr rowe will be able to help me at least with another split boy ???? even if it means waitting for it to hatch
  16. i beg to differ these hens are lovley nice wide head feather direction wighth you know i will never say no to any cull birds specially if they look like this lol or this
  17. chicks today as promisedtheir is afew more pics to come but can not post as the picture limit thing
  18. liv you are right she is a df spangle hen she just looks lute in picture how ever like you said her eyes are black very nice hen though and lovely strong yellow color just goes to show the light green to yellow breeding does work well with the yellow birds i would say she is a light green herself under her yellow coat this being why your chicks are so lovley and bright all light factor no dark would this be right ??????
  19. again they are beautiful chicks splat i really love you birds they have all the qualitys i love one day i hope to breed birds like your little ones with my spangles but will be long while off yet
  20. i cant wait either its the bit i hate from last egg to hatch they are fertile i dont do the cradling thing if they hatch they hatch i can tell by about day 11 if their going to hatch or not hopefully my very first show quality s the plan it to get some albino chicks and split cocks from each clutch then pair the albino cock to my grey spangle sh9 -o8 hen when she is ready and get another clutch from them (she was good but hurt her foot so in inside having recovery time ) but for now he can go with my sh9-o8 grey normal they better pairing as she has good size and deep markings so any norms will have nice dark wings im not sure if my albino cock is masking any other mutation either so another reason im going her first i dont want df spangle albinos im still yet to get their full history i was told they could be split dilute though (the brothers) so thats good as im wanting to use dilutes instead of cinnamons in my albino line mabe a bit of both for feather softness cinnamon works great so....something to think about after i breed the albino hen to the normal grey split albino she is going to be paired to my sh9 -o8 grey spangle cock he is just finishing molt also get some more chicks from them i also need to find out if she is masking spangle before placing her with the spangle cock this wont be a fast exercise but it will be worth while one i belive im down loading pics of albino cock and his grey hen now so will post pics soon i placed them together today to get aquainted while he finishes his molt well thanks for following this hope fully its going to be fun and interesting the foundation of my albinos is something i have been thinking about for some time now finally i got a start
  21. their is nothing wrong with theses birds apart from a gene that makes their growth rapped and in a way their like that little guy qwinten remember him as far as i see it the birds will die when their time comes it is not like liv has them hooked up to a breathing aperatis or feeding them antibiotics to keep them alive they are simply being feed a very-ed diet nothing more than any other well loved budgie would be feed if they were suffering from wasting or such liv would be the first person to recognize the need for them to be gentally put to sleep through anesthetist i do not know liv well but enough to know she would be not able to bear seeing these birds suffering in anyway for any reason this is not an experiment nor is it a reacquiring happening it was a stroke of bad luck that liv decided to share with us all and it is very interesting at that to see the development in these young birds i for one never knew the sighns before this as i do now we all do things diffrent me personally would also try give them a completable life till they needed either assistance to pass or weather they passed happily one day as quilla did how ever knowing the sighns in the nest would probably cull any other chicks at first defanent sighns of this recurring before the chick or chicks were of age to leave nest and i would defendantly would not keep the birds whom breed this in first place nor would i breed with any of the other chicks from the same clutch as being a rececive gene it can go through out your whole flock in future breedings but again this is me liv has a good judgment of right and wrong i trust her judgment where these or any other birds of her's lifes are of concern
  22. i thought was a lute also but decided she was showing me it was breed from a df spangle and a sf spangle explaining why it was df spangle badly suffused ...but i could be just making more out of a simple picture hee hee
  23. i know and the bit that sucks is they are all pet type chicks lol but all half show type the albino bub his mother is my no .2. lacewing hen x a opaline spangle grey split ino cock bird he is from a show stock father the grey cock pictured above with the lacewing hen NO.2. LACEWINGS SISTER and a pet type albino hen he was just an up sized chick i kept for his fantastic spangle markings but the only cock in condition at time she was so... these chicks for my pet line she has the albino show stock cock with her now as i took they grey spangle away as soon as i had a cock suited ready pretty much after all the eggs were layed and she first started to sit he was her chosen partner in aviary so was easy swap and they will be ready for round two when chicks leave nest in few weeks however he is 05 so may not get anything its all good though if eggs are clear i will toss them and she can rest ready for my lacewing cock im getting off nubbly i will let them get a quainted and when october comes put them down but thats if he next round is all clear eggs if not she will raise then rest till aug next year
  24. okay well finally i have my very first pair birds that i will be breeding to start my albino line first a run down on my plan to breed a few albino hens of my own and some albino cocks of my own plan of action ..by pairing my grey normal split albino to my albino hen and my albino cock to my grey normal hen these two cock birds are full brothers breed by JG2 - 08 they are from the same albino stud line of the nat winner 09 (this year ) not full blood related to the winner but still a bargain and a good start these birds were brought at my clubs action few months back the hen i brought was a very good buy a TF1 - 08 breed bird i was going to breed my albino cock with my albino hen but decided to get a grey norm hen and breed him with her and breed my split albino cock to the albino hen this way i will get Normal / Albino cock x Albino hen Albino cocks Normal / Albino cocks Albino hens Normal hens then with my albino x grey norm hen Albino cock x Normal hen Normal / Albino cocks Albino hens then i will hope fully of breed some visually albino cocks and hens for my self from both brothers which will give me my start the rest i will work out as my chicks become older and ready to breed i dont have rings yet so hopefully i can get some quick smart before these eggs hatch yes the first pair have 4 eggs so far due to hatch 19th to 20th august so depending how long it takes for rings to be ordered and made depends if they get rung wont matter though i just wont be able to show any of the chicks if i cant get rings pics of the pair grey split albino cock..JG2-08 bird X albino hen TF1-08 bird eggs layed 27th july first egg ...this egg was dented with toe nail and eatten by hen second egg layed 29th july and removed for safety to another nest ...to be returned once laying comenced third egg layed 31st july ..hen sitting forth egg layed 2nd august ...hen sitting fith egg layed 4th august sitting so this is ...as far as i have gotten so far ,as my albino cock just finishing a molt now,the grey hen is ready but he is not i will pair them this week in to a breeding cage with out a box then post pics of the two ... hopefully i dont miss her timing if so i will pair them in a small flight i have its a meter by 2 meters high they can stay their intill she comes back into condition him with her that could take up to seven weeks though will keep this updated regularly as things progress im so exited weather i fail or not im going to keep a log of it all here share my first experiace with show birds here wish me luck any hints welcome or if you see something you think i need to be told or what ever feel free to help me along my path to the (hopefully )oneday ...the show bench i have already decided on my ring code so, im a bit exited
