Preston Ubc In Vic
so i went to the unbroken caps show when i arrived i was suprized that a few people had remembered me from the june auction up my way so i felt a bit more at ease about rocking up alone ,everyone was great and very friendly also quiet happy to answer my at times rather silly questions i had no idea how anything worked as it was my first real show i was lucky enough to be shown a few great pointers from various different people in the fancy also got a few numbers id been after for a while along with the chance to meet some of the more experienced breeders in which Ive been wanting to meet for some time you can really see the difference in the diffrent styles of breeding and the difference in size of alot of the birds actually helped me more i think than going to a show with older birds as i got to see the quality and size of chicks being breed by many others and will beable to see these standed in my own show breed chicks helping me decide if my pairings were of good choise i discussed with alot of diffrent breeders what chicks would go on in their opinion to become a worthy bird ,so i got lots of info on what to look for and what posably was going to be good as stock and what probbly shouldnt have been their which was only as size aparently over rides markings in these days i also learnt that you can just rock up to a show and enter on the day sometimes and that even if your club doesnt go with a team you can enter yourself i made a few new contacts and brought a book that i actually should have just keeped my money as i knew everything it said but hay good to have just cause i guess ,i also know to save for the next one as you can get lots of good needed things resanably priced if not at a bargon price oh and i met some people from here... hi well all in all its worth going to one show breeder or not you will be welcomed and learn loads as i did meet a bunch of friendly chaps and drink coffee from foam cups that concludes my day and i look forward to mabe having a bird on the bench next year if i learnt anything i say i will

hi guys wondering if anyone can tell me what time i should arrive at the shield in Preston tomorrow i am going along for a look experience it all see what i am in for if my breeding's are successful im expecting to be very frightened as im going alone and apart from a few club members (who i probbly wont even reconize, and if i did wouldnt really have time to socialize i suspect ) im going to know no one so if anyone is going, and you see me ,let me know who you are i will be the one looking all nervous and alone talking to the birds lol not people i will also be wearing a orange and blue dress with a black jacket be sure to say hi gb i would love to meet you

Well And Truly Plucked
feathers always grow back with in weeks of a plucked chick thats how you can tell plucked from french moult if someone trys to sell a bird that can not fly and is bald no feather growth starting and they say it was plucked in nest but will be fine they are full of it your bubys will look no diffrent to the others by time they out i had one case once worse than yours and all grew back before they flegde and they only had few weeks left in box mother just wanted to lay again mine were bald i thought they were french molt at start no blood and fine in morn bald at night top to toe but bar few spots but were plucked it happens so quickly

Combination Pieds
thank you nevile as although i still get them confused at times in pics i understood this and was getting sick of people telling me different now mabe others will believe that you can get doms split for rec pied and that some birds look rec pied but is not ,nore are they df doms as with alot of my breed combonation pieds i own all from dom split rec ,cross rec breedings or dom split rec x normal split rec breedings which gives a simulur out come with chance of combination pied and rec pieds and dom split rececives and recesives or normals ect ect thanks mate cheers
-
Eggbound Or Internal Layer
i totally agree with kaz hens who are incondition and thicken up but dont actually produce an egg with in 12 to 14 days ( 12 in my veiw ) of thickening should be taken out from breeders cabinet as something not right their if hen is not egg bound their is not many other options lack of calcium could be one but if all the ticks are ticked then internal layer is only other option

Blue Pied With Yellow?
she is sky and im thinking df dom pie if you have a normal blue cobalt or a mauve cock that would be better is your mauve spangle a cock cause i would use him if it is a boy and id put the dom cock in the picture here with the opaline hen you have you will get nicer variaty and colours that way and from their you may get just the right mix of chicks to get a yf sky blue spangle opaline cock you want to get i will explain better how if you like i sent you pm so we will go from their but thoughs to pairs are a very good start to get what you want

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
im for ever moving my birds around with chicks eggs what ever i even moved all my breeding pairs 2 hours away when the black friday was here and birds with chicks eggs and one hatched on the way in the trailer so... they should be fine its no different to fostering chicks from box to box in a sense or adding eggs for that matter i say just make sure hen is in box and cock bird when you move them put straight into a cage that is ready with enough food and water to feed them all for a week so u dont need to disturb again good luck as for the birds all laying before you can change from colony to cabinet well mate your the owner just remove eggs and all nests some times you have to take a loss to gain a win
