  3. This has me wondering, if an albino chick is also opaline, will it still have the white down? Or for that matter, do non-opaline albino chicks have grey down? (In other words, does the albino gene affect the down color?) thats a good question mmmm i wonder now lol i tell you what ii will remember your question and if i ever do get to breed a albino or two lol i will find out for sure as im planing to breed albinos masking normal and grey nothing more
  4. well done kaz
  5. too true and very good point as i have sun in bird room wont add this after all going to us pvm instead feed to breeding pairs birds love it so far
  6. well done this is brillient simple and working set up can i ask having the cocks and hens seperated how much of a diffrents has this made with your breeding as in compared to them all being in together
  7. Tyson prefers to do his own preening thank you very much. they are beautiful i cant see the sky blue as a cinnamon but it doesnt matter as pics look different to true colour he looks exactly like the normal to me though beautiful boys all the same
  8. okay if you say so however i resurched this quiet extensively but its good i can except your none belief i myself thought the same as you at first i personally dont care anymore your chicks are lovley what ever the fact so..... good luck with future breedings gb
  9. i have done both ways but found the cock being smaller helps as hen needs to feed larger chicks before father takes over and mum will help when they still hungry either way does work though
  10. A green or grey green bird breeding greys or blues MUST be split blue or am I reading this wrong? reading wrong green has to be split blue as dave said however grey green can produce grey chicks with blue or grey or green bird and the green does not have to be split i know it sounds wrong but its true i had a big debate over it once and in end said okay what ever found out later that i was right with grey green they can produce grey to any colour but only can produce blue if the the other bird is split blue and also them self hope that made sence and dave i was not making argument just asked if he was grey green or green as you said i had forgotten and was interested for myself only
  11. quote from you .... Eldest - grey opaline dom pied 2nd eldest - green or grey green dom pied 3rd eldest - green or greygreen cinnamon winged dom pied youngest - green or greygreen dom pied To the grey from a green bird, then twitch must be split blue. dave is the cock green or grey green as against most peoples belifes a grey green will give grays not only greens when put with a grey bird and does not necessarily mean its split blue put with a green though only greens with a grey green greys can again be achived
  12. so where do you get all this stuff and can a flee bomb work the same????as the spray whats the sprays actual name
  13. i was wondering could you just flee bomb the birds room ????mine is only 2 meters by 3n half long if i just tossed in a flee bomb and let it rip would that do the job breeding boxes cleaned ect of course and left open ?
  14. it is so good of you to share your regime with us it really helps to know what things im missing in doing for preparation can i ask do you run all cabinets together or do u stager breed also is morteen out door six month barrier spray safe ??? is that what you are saying you use this is good idea as if its safe for birds the spiders and all would stay well clear flys mossies the lot save heaps of money on coil strips and ect if i could just user that instead i would have thought it would harm them if they chewed the wood is this the time you start breeding every year ? thanks
  15. thats a shame mate 4 better than none and id be happy with albinos lol
  16. thanks macka im only getting red rings for now anyways ,as they un coded as for breeding a winner for nats can you even put an uncoded bird in ???? i dont think i would send a bird their not if it was the best one i have bred i think i would rather breed it first get more good ones plenty of time for nats although this coming year will be the only year i would actually be able to be present due to it being in vic
