  2. hay darl well im here to say not only am i breeding show type,.. one of the reasons i chose to breed Opaline was to............. save the mantel and bring back the clear v so far i think im doing okay my birds are not small but also not large the ones that i have managed to breed out with a resonly clear mantel i have a long way to go but i did chose my pairings to try and rectify these lost beauties im trying to keep all hens with clear mantels and from these i will be breeding them to the best marked normals not split to anything which im also breeding myself then the cocks split to Opaline breed from the clear mantel hens will or should i will say carry the clear mantel gene then its just a matter of keeping this line clear of anything thats split to Opaline from any birds that are not of clear mantel and from anything visually dirty this includes flecked birds

  10. maybe time to put the egg to your ear and listen for chipping you may need to assist its entry to the world theirs a special way to do itso dont just go cracking it open to help if cheeping is heard Its been nearly two days from a cracked egg. Too long for a chick to be making its way out safely. oh two days well thats sad
  11. wow...so sweet.Your babies are looking fantastic mate ...cant wait to see them moult out later on PS would that YF be the Jeff lloyd boy ? well thats him but ring number is wa- gda- 06 242i thought that was armstrong code thats what i got told by another breeder anyhows but you would know as was your bird so yes the jeff bird im glad it was taken in text it was meant not as offensive she cracked seed for about 8 seconds tonight so...that's a signI myself definitely didn't find it offensive, I thought it cute that your little lacewing was able to at least have a name for her little "disability" And that is fantastic she cracked seed. fingers crossed she keeps at itwell she is quiet large and her ways are a tad slow but shes the full quid on the inside just a bit more time to do things very loving and playful i thought it fitted im renaming her jimmy i do thank you for your comments guys im bit proud of these chicks and myself see a lot in most of them and myself can not wait for them to molt out i will be sure to take pics when they do

  19. do i suspect a hint that a new pinky may be hatching oh how exiting hopefully it is and not a cracked egg seems shes sitting well so no reason y none should hatch at all she is pet after all so you should be unlucky to get none hatch let us know im waiting to see if its hatched or cracked the suspence is killing me
  20. thanks for trying guys nubbly im trying to work it out so i don't need to test breed to see what dark factors if any are held so i can pair appropriately the first time round just i think i breed a grey green bird with double dark making him olive but he is actually grey green to look at but he is definitely green not grey green his mum was grey medium id say and dad was grey green double dark id say what should be out come of that might be easyer to get a colour expectation chart for that ..??? grey medium factor to..... grey green double dark/blue out come ...????????????
  21. hi guys so in breeding my birds i am trying to work out how do i distinguish between a grey-green with dark factor grey a grey-green with single factor (medium grey) and one with light grey (no dark factor grey green ) and one with double dark also the same again but in green eg dark green / blue, in medium dark green /blue ,in light dark green / blue ,one with medium factor one mabe / mauve or violet blue or am i totally confused and you cant get these thanks in advance
  22. loved it just loved it superb thanks kaz
  23. im not going to guess as i dont do that verity i really dont know but he is very cute :happy-dancing:
  24. what i want to know is why do people keep trying to fool the bird breeders into believing their is pink budgies lol its not genetically possible the closest you can come to a pink budgie is the rosy look a albino masking violet gives off or a albino covered in pvm powder and any real budgie breeder can tell their not budgies but Bourke parrots even if :happy-dancing:
  25. it was this one but in this picture she defenently is not spangle rip thanks for seeing this on other side bird looks apears spangled and opaline she is opaline for sure but no not spangled you can see my mistake though in this picture the thin black at botom of the colured feather , than cobalt and last normal cock bird of clutch is a definite violet. i wish i could draw an arrow lol but the bottom few marks looked spangled but on other side definitely not my bad :happy-dancing: their all so pretty though regardless of what they are
