Oh My GOSH! I only just realised what that little bump icon is for! To bump up a topic! DER! hahahah
  2. If it is still bleeding you must catch him and treat it. He may fly around his cage and knock his water over but you will get him. Just be assertive and calm. Im sure you would have corn flower or baby powder in the house somewhere. If not ask a neighbour.
  3. Also, bird owners should keep a small birdie first aid kit. In that you should keep stypic powder. Its blood clotting powder, and you should be able to get it from pharmacies. Its good to have on hand incase a blood feather breaks or you accidentaly clip a nail or feather too short. But what Liv has said is good if you dont have some. If all else fails baby powder. Let us know how it goes!
  4. OH she is sooo cute!
  5. Okay, so patience is not a strong point of mine. Never has been.... BUT. I just found the most placid beautfiul baby! The partner hasnt meet him yet. So if he really doent like him, we will tame him up and sell him. But my housemate and I are smitten! He is such a beautiful purple colour. The pictures dont do the purple justice. YES I am a PHOTO JUNKY! heheheh
  6. Pictures Please!!!!
  7. KAZ, can you please explain to me how you came to that conclusion
  8. Yes because I read through the FaQ and got all confused
  9. I am sooo sorry SG for your loss. I know what its like to be hurt so bad by a loss. You will never forget them. I am ready to give us as well. BUT think, if you gave up before you met Crumbles you would never been able to enjoy them. If you stop now you may miss out on meeting another different, but still just as loveable bird. God Luck! Much Love!
  10. Ditto. Hen for sure
  11. Okay so I am trying to learn more about sexing bubs for when I get a real young one. I feel I am okay with it untill you talk about the nostrl size and the whole bolbus vs smooth thing? Can someome please explaine (or preferably show me a picture) of a bolbus cock cere and a non bolbus hen cere. Same with the nostril sizes. I just dont see any difference. THANKS CREW!
  12. Exactly MB. You wouldnt buy the 20kg bag for one bird. But some people go through HEAPS!. We bag it down into smaller sizes for people.
  13. Preferably dont use something that comes from a supermarket or mass producer. Fresh quality seed (without all the fancy coloured bits that do nothing) is best. Often brought from produce or bird stores. And they usually bag it themselfs (because they come in 20kg bags).
  14. What can I say. I cant help if we are AWESOME! lol.
  15. Fantastic pets in narre warren stock them. There should be lots of other places with needles in stock, But at that age you should be able to try and syringe feed them into their mouth.
  16. I couldnt agree with you more! They are wonderful!

No, not a fool. Just thought-fool!
  18. All good sugestions! They have been in the cabinet full time as they were in a cabinet since we got them at the store. The females cere suggests she is in breeding conditon.
  19. Really? Ive never heard that angle before. Ill look into it. Just an Update on m bush budgies. They still arnt breeding. So people have suggested that I move them outside. So they are now on my patio in their cabinet. I have added a thicker perch as those that come with the box are a littl thin. Cross fingers! I do get very scared about having my babies outside tho, accidents can happen and I would hate to loose them! Naw Im sooo SMITTEN!
  20. I love it when my little babies do it in the cabinet together. They sit on opposite perches facing each other, then flap like mad at the same time. And then they like swap perches at the same time and do it again! Its so cute its like a little mirror image game! They even prune the same way at the same time. Naw! They are soooo precious!
  21. I love that we are all photo junkies here! I love showing people my pics. Heheheh
  22. Hi guys. I am wanting to get another companion budgie. But I have my breeding pair outside within earshot. Will the birds being able to talk to each other effect the bonding between me and the companion bird? I found that my first bird was my only bird and he was fantastic. My second bird could hear the breeders and was pretty terriable to tame. He wouldnt bond. Soooo I dont quite know how to get another companion bird if I still have my brooders.
  23. we didnt have them in the store to long at all. Im just being patient, after reading another post (forgot who it was by) about how hers took a while, cross fingers mine are the same. I blocked the breeding box off for a few days but it hasnt changed anything. The female is still in there often and they are still bonded. Naw they are the cutest lovers, preening and feeding each other. The family just loves to watch them, But all i really want is just one clutch. Just to get one companion baby out of them.
  24. thats why i used to put them outside on nice days, but ive been told not to move them around. I do give them a vit d supplement
