You should see all the birds in the baby cage Kaz. Its entertaining watching them run around on the floor foraging for seeds. With that other baby I have decided to keep it for a little while and see if it works out. Their is a possibility it could be vitamin deficient or somthing so Im going to try get a hold of some vitamin soluble powder.

Aviary Size
Hi. How many birds do you think would fit in an aviary this size. 1 and a half meter front to back. 2 meters left to right. 6 foot high, Im thinking 20-30. What so you reckon?

Breeding Cage- Value Of It?
I went to heaps of places Cameron and they all reckon making them yourself is the way to go. I used twilweld and made each cage cost approx 35 dollars each for a sturdy cage. Do you have all your cages in a shed?

Agapanthers
I would not. They contain alot of sap and when I prune them I always get burning sensations on my hands. I think they are the ugliest plant in the world and I would not use them.

Breeding Cage- Value Of It?
I'd pay 80 dollars for it. I am also on the hunt for breeding cages. I want the cheap wire flat pack ones for 25 dollars each from ebay. They arent on their anymore.

Breeding Cage- Value Of It?
Too be completley honest I would not pay $250 for it. Maybe its because I don't like to waste money. I have seen brand new cages for cheaper than that and all wire cages are alot cheaper. Completely up to you though.

candled eggs today and they are fertile which is excellent. I saw veins, I dont usually candle much but today I tried it with success. I quarantined the birds I bought at the brisbane auction for 90 days, The worming stuff took a while to be delivered so I thought I'd leave them in the holding cage. They were released to the aviary today.

so sick of the rain I love it because its filling up the dams and giving us all clean fresh drink water bit I hate it at my place. The grass goes soggy Their is mud everywhere You cant walk anywhere without grass getting stuck to your boots Everything becomes slippery Thats just to name a few. I've also got the flu which is a bugger. Cannot do much. Update on the birds - The grey green babies keep jumping out of the nest and running around on the cage floor. I stopped putting them back in their after they jumped out about 15 times. As soon as I put 1 bird in, another bird would jump out, and it would repeat. They can stay outside now on the floor in the cold. I may try again tonight but they are 40 days old so they can come out if they want, im just worried about the cold. Other babies doing well also. 5 eggs in one nest I beleive they are all fertile.

Help With Medications
I have been told by a few friends that vitamins and mineral supplements are not needed so long as your birds are fed good quality vegetables and fruits often Alfalfa is a good tonic full of nutritional values, it helps with fungal diseases and that. A few chopped leaves a week would be good for your birds. Aloevera Is a painkiller for birds and helps infections. If you have a feather plucked bird, get some aloevera, mix it with water and spray it on the bird. Chamomile is good for sinuses, respiratory problems, stress on birds and overall health of a bird. Dandelion is good for arthritis and its full of vitamins and minerals Garlic is full of anti viral, anti fungal and anti bacterial substances. It is basically a natural cleanser or antibiotic. Also works as a deterrent for mites and insects

How Often Does A Healthy Budgie Drink?
I dont really take notice and I dont watch my birds 24/7 to determine how often. Once or twice a day I reckon.

At What Age Can I Start Feeding My Baby Budgies...?
I have millets and seeds in the nest boxes and the babies eat them when they are ready. At around 45 days they would be out of the box and eating veggies and fruits etc.
