Sky greywing- Some Questions
Its a cock and I'd say around 4-6 months of age.- Hi Everybody
Ian, How many birds are currently in the cage? Are any tiels still in the cage with the budgies? What about the lorikeet? I would remove the nesting boxes because theirs not enough room in the cage for breeding 3 sets of budgies + tiels. Nesting boxes in colony style breeding should be ATLEAST 1 foot apart, all same height and same style. Otherwise they will fight.- Help :)
Budgies do not need shell grit. They have internal mechanisms to grind down their seed. Unlike other birds which need grit to grind their seed inside.- Hi Everybody
Hey Ian I really like your aviary. Not to mention the birds inside Well done.- Hardest Mutation To Get To Show Standard.
I like spangles. Very colourfull and big in size.- Hardest Mutation To Get To Show Standard.
Yes I thought that too Elly. Spangles are generally a bigger mutation and more popular but yeah, some wing markings need to be improved. It will be interesting to see what others say.- Hardest Mutation To Get To Show Standard.
I've seen excellent yf's and ino's. Which mutation do you have trouble with the most shannon.- Sour Crop Or Air Filled Crop Or...?
I'm 90% confident its air filled crop. Just would like to see what other breeders think. Thanks Jimmy.- Hardest Mutation To Get To Show Standard.
Hi. Im curious to know which are the hardest COMMON mutations to get to show standard. Is it recessive pied? Clearwing? Opaline? Lacewing. Thoughts are appreciated.- Sour Crop Or Air Filled Crop Or...?
A mate of mine had a baby like this in their nest today and I'm curious to know what it is. Sadly it died as they were at work and were unable to get to it in time. I've never seen anything like it. It looks to me like the parent fed them but only air come out. what do you think it is. I've made it so you have to click the link because it may disturb some people. http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/qq248/P.../SDC10055-1.jpg- Photo Of My Budgies
The cere might repair itself shannon. it just looks like a little scratch to me. try some olive oil on it and see how it goes. did you ring it- Damn Neophobes!
It always happens to me. Put a vegetable in their they have never tried before and it will go off before they are game to try it. Takes weeks of rotten veggies before they actually try it (they always end up liking it) What kind of drinkers do you use in the flights and breeding cages nubbly5 if you do not mind me asking.- Photo Of My Budgies
Nice work Shannon.- Storm And Cinder

okay thanks very much Daz. I will look over the link you posted and I will see if I can learn them.- All Yellow Parakeet With Black Eyes?
I said dark eyed clears were recessive..... I did not know that dark eyed clear cant come in split form. Sorry Daniel.- A Rescue Of Five Budgies
I've never seen anything like it, what a disgrace. good job rescuing them.- My New Budgies Are Improving.
I think both are hens in my opinion.- All Yellow Parakeet With Black Eyes?
Dec hen x lutino cock They are both white/blue based birds. lutino is sex linked so you would get = All hens would be lutino and all cocks would be split lutino. DEC is recessive so you would not get any visual dec's, 50% of chicks would be split dec though. All in all I beleive you would get = Lutino hens/dec, normal cocks/dec/lutino. All babies would be masking dec.- Photo Of My Budgies
