  1. I like the pair Ino congrats on the chicks. Goodluck
  2. I'm starting to change my opinion on it. It would be terrible to introduce one bird after 90 days of quarantine that looks completley healthy into an aviary. Weeks later it spreads a deadly disease to the entire flock.
  3. Just remove the swing if you dont like his behaviour. I think he is just having fun and being a boy. Gives him somthing to do.
  4. I'm very sorry for your losses Angelic Vampyre. I know how it feels to lose many birds at a time. I hope you can overcome this.
  5. Thankyou Bird_paradise.
  6. Thats what I thought to jimmy.

Thankyou kaz. thats what I've currently planned. Top is one cage and bottom is the other. Just need to make some doors.
  8. Thanks Jimmy.

I have a cabinet about 1 meter high by 1 meter left to right (long) by 50 centimeters front to back. Should I divide it in half or can it be split in quarters? For breeding birds,

It's an excellent cage Ian I think it would be fairly easy to turn it sideways. Attach the nest box with hooks or somthing, the main thing is that its sturdy.
  11. Excellent photos.

Good luck Ian. If you can make the cage lye horizontal like kaz said it would be the best option as budgies need to fly longways, the dont fly up.
  13. The mother and father are both excellent feeders, they did very well feeding all the chicks. When ever I put my hand in the box the young cinnamon bites me. None of the others bite me, just the cinnamon. She must have inherited that from her mother.
  14. Thanks Emma
  15. Very nice Kaz I like Carrot face and the other Foster.
  16. Would be a dream come true if this pair had eggs
  17. Thanks very much Daz. What about if your just starting out and dont have too many birds, and you want to buy a few from each stud. Should they be quarantined together or seperate?
  18. Have not updated in a fair while. I have 9 breeding pairs down to breed. I am not going to go through each one but I will give some highlights of some pairs. Grey green pair have 6 eggs, all fertile. THe hen is not the best incubator but I beleive she has done her job correctly and the eggs should hatch soon. Yf cinnamon opaline hen paired to skyblue cock. I am trying this hen again just to see if she will breed, their is still hope. Pet pair 1 - on second clutch now all 3 babies. They are all 45 days old so they will be seperated today. Few other pairs all going well. Be sure to view my pictures in the picture section
  19. Maybe they were fertiled but she didnt incubate properly and the embryo died? I really hate candling my eggs , simply because I am terrible at it. I can usually have some idea if they are fertile or not by the colours. Infertile will be pinkish/clear and fertile will be pure white. I would personally wait to see if they hatch by the due date, its not too far away. I have got rid of eggs with chicks inside before and its a terrible feeling. Others may have differing opinions but this is what I reckon.
  20. Daz if you get birds from 3 seperate people do you quarantine them all together? What if one group of birds have a disease and they spread it to the other groups. Should they be quarantined seperatley? This is what I've always done.
