  3. HI Pippi Hey do you have a number for the ballarat budgie show ?
  4. okay, cool thanks **Liv**. I dont really understand the split part though. Does it mean that if I bred an Olive recessive pied, that was split to blue, with a cobalt I would get sky blue and cobalt?
  5. Im so happy!!! I have a sky blue recessive pied hen down on 3 eggs with another one due tomorrow!! The cock is a Olive recessive pied. What should the outcomes be?

Never talk to the parrot Mrs. Peterson phoned the repairman because her dishwasher quit working. He couldn't accommodate her with an "after-hours" appointment and since she had to go to work, she told him, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dish washer, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you a check. By the way, I have a large rotweiler inside named Killer; he won't bother you. I also have a parrot, and whatever you do, do not talk to the bird!" Well, sure enough the dog, Killer, totally ignored the repairman, but the whole time he was there, the parrot cursed, yelled, screamed, and about drove him nuts. As he was ready to leave, he couldn't resist saying, "You stupid bird, why don't you shut up!" To which the bird replied, "Killer, get him!!!" You could feed them a lot faster There was once a man from the city who was visiting a small farm, and during this visit he saw a farmer feeding pigs in a most extraordinary manner. The farmer would lift a pig up to a nearby apple tree, and the pig would eat the apples off the tree directly. The farmer would move the pig from one apple to another until the pig was satisfied, then he would start again with another pig. The city man watched this activity for some time with great astonishment. Finally, he could not resist saying to the farmer, "This is the most inefficient method of feeding pigs that I can imagine. Just think of the time that would be saved if you simply shook the apples off the tree and let the pigs eat them from the ground!" The farmer looked puzzled and replied, "What's time to a pig?" 7. Nope, no way any mice could have gotten near him and no neighbours were spraying. I keep him inside thats why the the mice couldnt have gotten to him. Thanks for the help
  8. okay. thanks everyones suggestions. I had plenty of food for him thanks Kaz and Libby. I may be young, but I am perfectly capable of looking after my birds. I have checked his food dish, and it had alot of food in it still. It was not cold in the room. I think he choked on something, thats what I thought from the start. I always research animals before I buy them. I am getting alot more money now, and I ALWAYS have time for my birds! I am homeschooled so that helps too.
  9. I also have a bad mouse problem, will try the bucket trick thanks
  10. He had food when I put him to bed. I suppose he could have eaten it all though. I offered him an apple, and he licked it, but didnt want any lorikeet mix. It was about 18-19 degrees where he was being kept.
  11. yes he sure was the bird I got in June. I cannot figure out what happened, last night he was perfectly fine, squawking away like usual. About 6:45am I woke to hear him banging around in the cage, so I leapt out of bed, and let him out. He flew down onto the ground, and was panicking really badly, like doing little frantic short bursts of flying, squawking like he was in pain and bending his head backwards and was making gasping noises like he couldn't breathe properly. I grabbed him, and it was like he didnt know me, constantly trying to get away from me. Ran down the hall to Dads room and screaming and crying, told him something was wrong with Nitro! We called the vets, but they were not open and their after hrs number wasnt working. I was just sitting with him wrapped up so he couldn't injure himself by flying frantically, while Dad was ringing other vets but they were all shut and all of a sudden, his gasping got louder then there was no sound, and I looked down and he was dead. Im devasted. It was so hard sitting there watching my best mate fade before my eyes. RIP Nitro I miss you my mate. Im not getting another bird for a while. Even when I do, it will never replace Nitro.
  12. okay thanks for that SW. What about Indian Ringnecks? I am very fond of them, particularly blue and grey, and they are also about $350 cheaper than Conures. I think they might be the way to go, but does anyone know the cage size requirements for them? Thanks
  13. thanks everyone. From talking to a few people, I found out that he had a stroke. Apparently these arent exactly common in Lorikeets, but not hugely rare either. I really miss him. I will definetly get another hand tame bird, I just got so much out of him and he was always there to make me laugh and cheer me up on bad days. Im thinking of a Sun Conure, as I still have Nitros cage. What do you think?
  14. thanks heaps for everyones support. I miss him terribly. It hurts so much inside. I hated watching him, knowing there was nothing I could do to help my best mate. I feel sick. He really was my baby and he loved me as I loved him.
  15. thanks AV. PS Elmo is gorgeous
  16. thanks Daz I needed that right now
  17. thanks elly. i think he was choking. Anyhow, he passed away about 10 mins ago. :hap: :hap: We were frantically calling the vets, and they weren't open, and their after hrs number wasn't working. I am devasted he really was my BABY

  21. Hi I have some animal ones I would gladly email you if you PM your email address.
  22. Go Fish Do you watch David Attenboroughs Life of Mammals?
  23. I have tropical fish too. I am sure the 2 angelfish will be fine in there. Pearce - be careful with angelfish and neons because when the angelfish get bigger, they may eat the neons. I have had that experience, believe me.
  24. Go fish. Is it over 30degrees where you are currently?
  25. No.Have you watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? If so, did you like it?sorry I should have said Go Fish, not no. Oops!
