Well I had the three eldest chick out in my bedroom a few days ago and they have now grown an obsession of going onto my shelf and terrorising my stuffed toys. Grr! But I must say I got so cute pictures out of it This is the eldest boy with his sister who was born after him. I love this picture! They are looking at that tail as if they cannot help but to give it a chomp. I believe this is the two girls. Because if I remember correctly the boy was on my head. The thrid born chick a female. And the only picture I took that day of a little boy. He wont fly around the room, he can but he just wants to sit and run up and down peoples arms.

Really....?? Cause I thought green rec pied looked like the two I already have. Could you explain other wise. Umm... these are the parents and I am going to tell you what they are carring. George I know his more cause I had him off a friend and she had his parents there. Okay he is split Opaline, Cinnamon, Rec pied and blue. Lumina Where as Lumina I bought from a pet shop and have no idea of what she was carring but through breeding know she is carring rec pied.

Oh I also forgot to add something I have never seen so much action and exsitment when I gave my budgie Eucaliptus tree branches with the leaves all washed in boiling water. I was soo happy to see them happy Kiwi she loved them so much tearing the leaves to shreds and my room smelt beautifull afterwards. I think Kiwi and Lumina got more out of it than the boys who just kept on running under the leaves like a beaded door XD

I have no clue for measurements as we havent moved yet so I dont know what space we have to work with. I also need to run them past my dad see if he likes the design. Wow! they do look alot alike. The parents are both caringing Rec pied gene. They have produced two Rec pied hens. I do believe this is a hen also. She's still very young not yet left the nest box or flew. She was born 31st May.

I am proberly the stupidest person in the world for asking this question, but I am not sure that this chick is light green as she is incredibly dark and has a blue vent. Even as she had pin feather they came out blue? Not sure why. The Dad is split to blue I am not sure if this explains that. And then there's another part of me saying she'll have an adult molt and wont be this colour?? But what are your opinions?? Her vent(Not a very clear picture but you can see) Other angles

I am not entirly cetian but I do believe budgie can have Alfalfa. I would however wait for more replys as for Lettuce it is not entirely great for them, as it is mainly made up of water and will give them diarrea. Hope I could be of a small help. Jodie.

Well this May I dicieded to breed my normal green hen Lumina with my normal green cock for the third time now, and have dicied this will be my last ever. I will miss it I do really still want to breed them but this year Lumina is three and she has bred twice during this year and so she will not be able to breed again. Sadly. However we got a group of 5 wonderfull chicks they are so beautifull may I add. She has raised all of them by herself due to the cock try to kill her!! I assisted in feeds every now and then when she looked really tired even feeding her myself. It felt great to help her. And the other have been amazing no health issues a few minor things hear and there. I still cant get Kiwi to stop her laying I come up will many new things but she would just find new ways to lay eggs. ARGH!! I have got her to stop right now but who knows how long that will last. The longest has been about 3 months. Okay now for the piccies!! The Adults Bailey Lumina Oushi Toshiro Ollie Kiwi George Now the babies. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 Now help sexing would be nice. I believe and have quite strong feelings that I have one cock and four hens. Reasurence would be helpfull. LOL! Thats all from me I think.

Thanks for the help guys I really appricate it alot. Cause I really am clueless as to what to do with an Aviery. With were thinking about building a shed so they have and indoor flight too and have the choice to go outside. And do a saftey door inside there to and keep a small space for storage for like medical supplies, food spare dishes ect:I am so exsited I have all these thought going through my mind like of how it will look!! But I may sleep there myself. LOL I love my budgies and I like to sleep with them too. I hope I'll also be able to buy a new pair too soon!Also are there any small plants I could grow in there to stimullate a more naturall envoroment??I mean I may have to wait until it is acually built to think about that. Hi. this might seem like a starge question to ask but me and my family are moving house and are getting a garden with the house and my dad said he'd build me an Aviary. I am so exsited but I do not have a single clue how to maintane one :fear So I thought this was the perfect place to get some info. Also I would like safety and security tips if you wouldnt mind. I wanted a double factor spangeled babies, sorry I didnt explain well enough.. But what I meant was I didnt want spangle babies but I wanted spangled budgie adults to add some variaty to the birds I already have. Like just buying more colorfull birds. And that I dont care really what offspring looked like afterwards. Sorry and thanks for the replys.

I have been pondering with myself for a while now on weatehr to buy two more budgies as a breeding pair possibly a pair of spangles to add some colour to my budgie family. On the other hand I dont know about buying two but defonatly an cock and spangle to breed with Kiwi a young normal green hen. And then I wanted to get a whole new pair to have fresh bloodlines if you understand?? I also want sure what to section to put this in. This is Kiwi she is a year old at the moment but in October she is 2 years. Also she has no Iris rings in here eyes so that puts me off a little from breeding with her.
