  6. JimmyBanks replied to SundayGirl's topic in New to BBC
He's very cute! If you need help training him there is alot of information on the forums and in the FAQ's. Your bird is probably a little nervous because he is not familiar with his surroundings. Do you know what the breeder was feeding him before you got him? You may find he goes through a moult if the seed is a lot different to what he is used to... Welcome to the forum and I hope you find it friendly and fun :laughter:
  7. What I have learnt from this post is that I'm not sure if your bird is type 1 or 2... but I do believe that your bird is yellowface type something :laughter: I've had a stab both ways and both times I've been wrong
  8. :laughter: I will watch this post very closely.
  9. Changing their food could bring on a moult, have you changed your seed recently? As for the feeder I've never used one.
  10. I was reading a book today and it mentioned that Hemp was known to bring birds into breeding condition. Has anyone ever fed their birds hemp before? I'm guessing it would be the hemp seeds but who knows.
  11. ahh I thought that was the case See this forum is full of information you just have to READ READ READ
  12. getting back on topic I guess the right answer to this question is simple... Why would you want to have any other birds besides Budgies?!?!?
  13. Budgiebuyer09, How long have you been breeding for? I know your just starting out again now but before you stopped how long weer you breeding for? Did I read correctly that you are putting down 40 pairs to breed soon? Lets say they have on average 4 babies each... thats 160 birds... How many of them would you be planning to cull? Starting out with that many birds I guess you won't be line breeding
  14. Ahh okay. So would you rather pick a good bird that you don't know the lineage of or an average bird from a good line?
  15. Do you have Dutch pied or Australian Dominant pied jwancia? (I don't know the difference but apparently there is )
  16. I'm not at home so I can't check, sorry. When I get home I'll let you know...
  17. I would've thought vegetables would've given enough vitamins and minerals..
  18. But how do you by a bird without faults? If it has no faults why would the breeder be selling?? Other than the obvious, it doesn't breed well...
  19. whats it for? just as a backup incase the other clip comes open?
  20. I haven't ever used it... may I ask what made you decide to use suppliments?
  21. thats great news hope all goes well from here...
  22. slightly Arnt they already paired up or are you pairing up with some of your birds? might wanna think about quarantine if they are breeding with your birds...
  23. look forward to seeing them
