  1. Sorry to hear about Zeus...
  2. I've always enjoyed this saying... Its why I've always laid the sarcasm on think... If its the lowest form of wit then you really need to use a lot in order to be funny The more the merrier. Glad you had fun with Dave and Kaz libby
  3. okay now I am totally confused... I hope someone is getting sense out of this thread... It seems as though every expert has a different opinion... (I'm not talking about forum members I am talking about the writers of the articles/books) I would've said that the bird above posted by dean is a YF1 because it is creamy in colour... but the expert is saying YF2 right? And RIP, even though no YF2 birds came back from the UK couldn't the mutation emerge here of its own free will? I'll look out for that book RIP any book on Budgerigars is an enjoyable read
  4. My favourite is.... Hiro!

haha I was going to say 22 bags, you've got a massive aviary there it comes out looking great, I am sure it will
  6. JimmyBanks replied to deb's topic in Aviaries
That looks 100 X better already. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
  7. okay, so YF1 is when the bird has a light yellow/cream coloured face. But how do I tell the difference between a yf2 and gf? A yf1 when it is df will go white, correct? But a df yf2 and a df gf won't? is there such a thing as gf 2?
  8. I have even read that the Goldenface gene is not a different gene to the yellow face... I have no idea about any of it... I think someone should map the genome of a budgie to find out
  9. JimmyBanks replied to Trish's topic in Aviaries
Great job with everything just a query have you put wire mesh over the hole for drainage? Wouldn't want to allow access to the mice... or snakes..
  10. I will admit I am way out of my depth here in terms of understanding the issue, but wouldn't the fact that you have a persistant issue in your aviaries prove sailorwolfs theory?
  11. JimmyBanks replied to Tilly2000's topic in New to BBC
:hi: welcome to the forum, sorry to hear that your bird is sick
  12. Sorry to hear about poor tilly.
  13. they should do that... it would be great... it is something I have thought about. There are a lot of fanciers out there that have lots of information but I don't know of any real scientific studies that have been done on the beloved budgerigar...
  14. they look great love the statue one
  15. glad they are liking their new home...
  16. JimmyBanks replied to Daz's topic in Aviaries
That is awesome news Daz!!!! Have they given you any restrictions on how many birds you can keep? They were doing spot checks weren't they? if so, will they continue or is it all finally over?
  17. I am hopeless at building things. I don't even bother trying to build things anymore because I am so poor at it. so anyone that builds their own get's applauded by me. You've done a great job with it.
  18. have you built the aviary yet sunshine*??? Its 11:30 now surely its up by now... Don't forget lots of pictures, we need to envision the story of the build... j.k. hope your having a good time building the aviary.
  19. Oh boy can we talk about politics now? I love political discussions!!! Please please!! I will refrain because then I can guarantee that people will get offended. I think it was Elly that mentioned Australians being called New Zealanders, Have you ever watched Mcleods Daughters? Over half the original cast were Kiwi's, now that is insulting... expecially when your wife was born in New Zealand and she doesn't let you forget I think this thread has digressed a fair way from the original topic, Some people will call them keets, some will call them budgies but to the people that named them originally they will always be "good for food"...
  20. I am so sorry to hear about your birds! Sounds like you tried everything... so sorry..
