Hey! Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time at the forum... everyone here is really happy to help around here so if you have any questions feel free to ask... Would love to see some pics of your budgies to at some point
  2. Slow and steady wins the race ay... Can't wait to see pics. Good luck.
  3. I was tempted to do that but chickened out... (didn't want to show everyone just how dumb I was) thanks for being a sport Dave.
  4. I concur 23 out of 25 is fantastic... whats your secret??
  5. I agree with Ikon and Neat... I have heard of budgies bred in breeding cages and still hear of instances when the mother attacks the ckicks... I can't say that I'm an expert, I'm not but we are dealing with natural creatures and it is natural for not everything to be perfect... whilst it is regretable that some chicks get attacked all we can do is MINIMISE the risk not ERASE it... If colony breeding is what you want to do missylu then I would suggest you read up on the subject, change your set up where needed and then keep a close eye on them...
  6. when will we know if we got all the answers wrong?
  7. congratulations on the chicks. Enjoy them and keep us posted
  8. well when someone gives it to you I'll be reading intently...
  9. best of luck in trying to convince her in looking after the budgies...
  10. They are looking fantastic. I told you wich ones I would keep in the other thread I think they are gorgeous. Like Feathers said rund the perches from front to back and that should be perfect. Make sure you get the nest box out as soon as they fledge... don't want another clutch... Even if ino's are gorgeous :(Laughing out loud):
  11. he's a cutie. will you be able to do anything about his legs being weak?
  12. Best of Luck with him. Its never nice seeing a budgie in pain. hopefully with the vets help he'll turn around...
  13. well everyone has answered your questions so I'll just say enjoy your new budgies.
  14. :budgiedance: imagine for a moment if you will... putting your hand into a box pulling out this fluffy golden brown object with a hole in the middle... you take a deep breath and smell the most magnificent scent, unlike any other smell you have experienced... You open your mouth and take a bite.... it melts and slides smoothly down your throat leaving an aftertaste to die for. you simply must have another bite... and another... and another... and another... soon the box is empty and your looking for more... you spot an old lady one hand clinging to a walking stick, the other holding onto a box... you give chase... You simply must have more... hungry?
  15. very cute budgie... the only thing 'daft' about your post was the word 'daft' :(Laughing out loud): haven't heard that in years. Thanks for the flashback. And Welcome to the posts congratulations on posting your first post... Look forward to hearing more from you.
  16. Colour of eyes have no bearing on longevity of a bird. Do blue eyed people live as long as brown eyed people ? I'll do some research... :budgiedance: Thanks for the answer.
  17. awww... can't wait to see their markings come out. Just had someone at work ask me.. do red eyed birds live as long as black eyeds?
  18. as long as they arn't sprayed with any chemicals they should be fine.
  19. Do you know why this is kaz? Is it just with your show birds or with your pet types too?
  20. I've seen those on ebay plenty... check out the threads that I edited into my previous post... they are some really good threads that show different TCB (texas clearbodies) and like I said Kaz's lacewings are absolutely magnificent...
  21. Kaz has a great thread with 2 of the best budgies I've seen on it... they are lacewings... I'll try and find a TCB thread with a picture too... TCB thread Lacewing thread hope that helps...
  22. Well... I don't know if they are rarer but I would of thought the Creamino is probably the hardest to find out of them all... then the Albino... right guys??
  23. I know what ones I'd be keeping... I a lover of ino's (Creamino and Albino) love the eyes... but like libby said its your personal tastes that matter... And if you wanna know what I'd breed with them... a lacewing and a Texas Clearbody...
  24. 1st picture White one - Albino Colourful one - YF2 opaline (yellow faced 2 opaline(not sure what 2 means maybe double factor)) 2nd Picture Yellow into white - Creamino Blue one - Sky blue normal opaline and normal speak of the feather pattern... i think... can someone more knowledgable please correct me if I got anything mixed up....
