when you say an 07 bird, do you know when in 07? we are only 4 months into 08... when were you thinking about breeding?

Just a question, from a dumb beginner... If you have 2 aviaries why don't you remove all the cocks for the time being until all the eggs have hatched, that way you won't have to go through the heartache of throwing out the eggs... It might delay the breeding cabinets but once your last chick has fledged you will be able to remove all the boxes together and there won't be any hassles with extra eggs... Then once the nest boxes are back, you can put the cocks back... Just a thought... Good luck with everything and your newbies look great!

Sorry to hear about your losses Daz. Hopefully the others that are sick will pull through soon. We all can see how much time and effort you put into your birds and it is an admirable quality... There are plenty of bird owners out there that would not 'waste' money on having an autopsy done. They, unlike you, would more than likely lose the whole flock before they learnt the lesson. Thanks for giving us the information required even when it may (i personally don't think it does) reflect poorly on you. You said something to me the other week in a thread, you never stop learning you are right, and because of this you still have a flock. keep your chin up.

There's a 'bird boarding house' out on Sydney Road... I've been thinking about checking it out, but I've gotta say I have bad pictures in my head even before going.... I just imagine a big cage with pets from 25 different places all crammed in... without quarantine..
