Very cute...what will the babies be? Will any of them be dilute?

I know Elmo is a mauve recessive pied cinnamon spangle but can someone confirm if he is YF2 or GF or possibly both? Don't know if a bird can be both, but his face is definitely a brighter yellow than the rest of him.

I can't help with mutation...but I can admire him! He's absolutely gorgeous .

Thanks...it was funny as heck. In my effort in trying to reduce dirtying of their drinking water Zaffie felt I was depriving her of a bath and proceeded to bathe in what water she could get. She was carrying on like this for a good 5 minutes and it did result in several photos but this was the best. She wouldn't let any other budgie get anywhere near the water outlet until she was finished either.

Thanks for the help everyone. I look forward to her calming down as her mate seems to be ready for her to be. I like that term 'jailbreak' behaviour, because now that you've said it, it's exactly what she appears to be doing.

Hi there, was just wondering if breeding pairs should have other budgies within sight or is it better that they can only hear them, rather than seeing them? The female in question seems rather interested in the other bird across the room rather than her mate. I separated this pair after they bonded in the avairy and now she seems uninterested in her partner and is constantly on the go, doesn't stop moving. And is it normal that the male budgie shows more interest in the nest box than the female? Thanks

Sorry about your budgies...I thought losing one was bad enough, so I'm truly sorry that your loss is so great.

Luna is also spangle, but I'm not too sure about the greywing part though.

Yesterday I took Arya to the vet after discovering her a couple of days earlier that she wasn't using her right leg. I iniatally thought she may have sprained it in some way moving about the cage but when she didn't improve I took her to the vet. It wasn't good news at all...the vet said it was probably cancer as he could feel swelling in her pelvic area and her liver was probably damaged as well as he said that probably had parallysed her right leg as she had no feeling at all in it. She found it hard to perch and her bum was constantly pooey because she couldn't use that leg and the vet said she's too small to operate on so not feeling I could offer her a excellent quality of life I chose to put her to sleep. Horrible decision... Bye Arya, Oliver misses his pretty girl already.
