  2. hope everything goes well, but did you quarintine for 30 days?
  3. well i noticed that he hasnt done any more green poos, and the other ones have dried and are now black but i did notice he had a poo stuck in his vent and i could swear i heard him straining to get it out, his vent is still a light brown colour, but there are no poos stuck in it.
  4. hi there, i have just noticed that Bing's poos have gone green, they are firm and not runny and don't look like they have any inconsistensies. i have changed his seed afew days ago from trill budgerigar food to whistler budgierigar food as he only really ate the millet in the seed. please help i can post a photo if need be, thanks
  5. just another query, could he be inactive beacuse he is still moulting? he is just about to finish it and only has about 5-6 pin feathers left on his head but do they stay affected by the moult until it is completly over and fully finished??? thanks
  6. well i will have to do this tomorrow afternoon he is asleep now and will do so tomorrow, thanks for all your help so far
  7. he has not been wormed, but next time my parents go to the shops i will ask them to buy some or i will come with them, and yes he did come form a large avary outside with other birds in it.the man i bought him off had hundreds of birds. His poops are fine, they are solid, a caramel brown colour, however his vent is a light light brown but only about 0.5cm by 0.5 cm and sometimes the poos have a wet patch around them of about 0.2mm around the poo
  8. thanks libby, just wondering could it be a sign of worms?
  9. hi there, i've noticed today that Bing's tail moves when he is sitting still and just chilling, is this a sign of sickness? because i have noticed it since we first got him but never thought that it was a sign of sickness, also compared to other budgies on youtube etc and my cousins budgie, Bing is nowhere near as active as them, my cousins budgie is an absolute nutter! flying everywhere and chasing everything thanks in advance, i hope nothing is wrong with him

  12. hey, i like reading your topic as i think i might want to be a vet, but i was wondering what subjects you studied in years 10, 11 and 12 to get into your course in uni? thanks
  13. can i ask how long ago you aquired your budgies? she could be going through the escape faze(sp?) and trying to escape
  14. well we have a plug in gas heater and i thought that it is harmful to birds as it gives off gas (natural gas)
  15. well we havent any artificial heating in our house at the moment because we don't want to harm him, but i think we'll have to end up putting him in the front room so we can hav the heater on in the back room as it is winter here now which will be sad as we wont be able to watch him while were watching tv
  16. Hi, Bing has been moulting for about almost 2 months now, just wondering whether this is normal as i have heard it takes 2-3 weeks, what i mean by still moulting is he still has pin feather all over his head and cheeks and dont seem to be opening... any suggestions???
  17. lol, i remeber when after about 2 weeks of Bing coming home, every night after covering his cage, you can here him clanging his olympic rings, and this happened every night for like 2 months it was hilarious, and one time i peered under the cover to find him holding onto the roof at the top of his olympic rings looking all innocent but there was no denying he likes his olympic rings
  18. hi, i have had a cuttlefish and calcium bell or mineral bell not really sure in Bing's cage the whole time he has been with me (about 4 months) and he has never touched either of them,is there any way i can get him interested in them? thanks
  19. this is what Bing looks like right now because he is going through his first moult, bits of yellowy green appearing all over his body and the blue slowly disappearing
  20. i think you guys were right about Bing thinking that my finger is anothr budgie because i held it out in front of him and he was playing with it banging his beak against it and trying to chew my finger nail, then he started bobbing his head and he regurgitated some seed for my finger lol! is this a good thing or bad?
  21. hmmm thanks everyone, i always thought he was looking for a place to bite me and he thinks that that will hurt the most because he cant get a grip anywhere else but i guess not? thanks
  22. sorry for your losses but i was wondering, where do you put the dead chicks? what happens to them?
  23. Hi, Bing likes to chew on my fingernails, is this a normal behaviour for a young budgie?? or is it something i should try to prevent? thanks :hap:
  24. what a beautiful bird, one tip though if you want to tame your budgie quicker i would remove the mirror as it makes them bond to the mirror and not you didnt mean to burst your bubble as its up to you, but it helps:) she is really cute oh and by the way, just to give you a little heads up, they go through an escape period for about a week, where they go on the ground and pace back and forwards thinking if i go over here, then back over here mabye a hole will magically appear! Nope ill try again just in case... Nope, ill try again and it just keeps going on and on, quite funny though Bing also escaped one time and caused havoc! but now he is okay

just thought i would make a post about your budgies favourite toy... show us a picture if you like or just describe it, Bing's favourite toy would have to be his olympic rings, he rattles them around like crazy and plays with the bell down the bottom while on the swing, it is quite hilraious watching him beat it up
