  1. Awsome news Kaz!!! Congratulations :hap:
  2. Well you learn something every day. I have never even considered that that could happen, I will remove the shells now, thanks Maesie! (and Kaz!) :hap: Neither did I... Kaz spotted them in one of my photos and let me know... :hap:
  3. It was the right move to put FB back in the nestbox. They USUALLY fledge (leave the nest box) around the 4-5 weeks of age mark. Check out our FAQ's Care of baby budgies in the nest. This will give you loads of info and I myself often find myself reading it every now and then. Also... just watch that the bleeding doesn't start up again. Is there an obvious injury?
  4. 3!!! :parrot: Oh sooooo cute Jenene... I love their fluff!!! A wise woman once told me ( :hap: Kaz) to always remove the empty egg shells once they hatch, as they can get wrapped around unhatched ones making it harder for them to hatch. Just a reminder...
  5. Birdluv... I officially make you the 'all nighter' judge and mediator... You can make sure we don't cheat, watch for inappropriate content (Look out for Neat) and think of fun stuff for us to do as we(neat) strugles to stay awake!!! Neat... mmmmmmm, I won't be piking. I went shopping and bought chocolate, chuppa chups (lolly pops) and clinkers (we can play the clinker game) and strong coffee... all I have to say for now is... GAME ON MOLE!!!!!! :hap:
  6. Excuse we whilst I go to the toilet to empty my bladder!!!

Great start... I can just hear your mind ticking away from here It sounds productive, although you may not have got everything done you wanted. I look forward to photos and following your journey...
  8. No worries... It's great he's alone now. The cock shouldn't reject them, but maybe if you handle them where he can see them, he'll be even better about it... especially if he sees you put them back. Also, with the veggies you're serving, hard boil an egg and then put it in the mixmaster/ mash it all up (shell and all) and add this. It's awsome nutrition for him and the bubs.
  9. okay, okay, okay... Back on topic... From the pictures posted, my favorites are: He has a good stance and awsome spots Libby! (Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about ) And Renee, Magik... what a sweetie and such a good boy to sit still for the judges.

Are you guys long lost brothers?!?! Great photo Aaron.
  11. Hi and welcome. I'm sorry you have this delema. You have received some excellent advice thus far. I haven't had to hand feed bubs before, so I can't give advice there, but libby is an expert in this. Perhaps give her a PM and she'll take you though it. Might be handy to learn now. Better now than when you're stuck with hungry chirping bubs. Good luck with it all. In my experience, the fathers do take good care of the bubs, but might be an idea to remove the other cock (male) bird. In some cases, other cocks can try and hurt other bubs. By removing this one, you would be allowing the father to focus all of his attention of his chicks and hopefully raise them until they can feed and fend for themselves. Good luck and sorry for your loss. Please keep us updated!
  12. I have too heard things about mixed certain species of finches... but can't remember what it was. Sorry . Good luck with them!
  13. YES JoEl... what happened to what you said in the comment you left on my page, about not upsetting members??? (my comments). Have you forgotten this already?

  15. maesie replied to SJW's topic in Budgie Talk
it sounds funny... sorry... I agree, it sounds like nesting behaviour. I guess you could use a different seed dish if it worries you. If you are planning on breeding her, maybe let it be, if not maybe change the dish?!?! Good luck and let us know how you go.
  16. Agree... good stuff Kaz, you have a good heart! and... the egg laying hen in the show cage...
  17. I agree 110%, but I also like to keep my fingers!!! Ernie, my male Cockatiel, decided he didn't want a 'spot of ivermectin' so he tried to 'remove my fingernail' !!! OUCH!!!!!!!!

We will have a continuos post in which we will post things, and have general chit chat.
