  1. Sounds fantastic!!! I'm glad you had a blast and look forward to all of the stories. Sleep well and I hope all of your birds were well and very happy to see you
  2. I did take the photos but i didnt get the chance to upload them i do have the perches set up parallel and my set up is the same as my breeders so i think it might just be the birds not being ready or something? I went out today and they have been in the boxes because there is poo and feathers in there so atleast they go in there when im not there i will just watch them and see If they are showing interest, that is a good sign. It would be a pity if you had to split up your pairings.
  3. Good point Deb. It's important to have two perches parallel... so they can fly(or jump) from perch to perch... Kind of like when you were a child and you liked a boy/girl... you used to follow them around the playground It's kind of like their 'warm up', or foreplay (if I'm aloud to say that here)
  4. Yep... me too. Right on Liv. When my budgies were sick recently, they were inside and on meds... and they vomited up seeds and their meds. Now that's something you don't want on your face

    Very handsome boys there!
  6. Thanks Deb. I know!!!! Tweet Tweet is an awsome Dad so I trust he will help her out heaps... but I would not be too sad if they don't ALL hatch... Time will tell I guess (6 sleeps until the first bub is due)
  7. Hi and welcome to the forum. I agree with comments above. He should have a set bedtime, when he is put back in his cage and covered up for the night... and also a time in the morning where he is uncovered and let out. Like children... they need their sleep (even if they don't want to go to bed ). I also think when he matures a little, he will calm down.
  8. = 7!!! Crackle is much happier with the small ledge, and she wasn't keen to move when I checked on her and her eggs tonight.
  9. Although you said they are in breeding condition... maybe they're just not into it, or each other??? Maybe try putting them all back into the avairy, and then after a week or so, put them back in, in different pairs. Whilst they're in the aviary, watch them closely to see if any of the pair up on thier own.

He is adorable!!! You should enter one of those pictures in Budgie of the Month.
  11. The pictures I PMed you will give you some indication of what young males and females can look like, but it's not always the case. As Libby said, perhaps try and get some close up photos of their cere's so we can confirm or help.
  12. She was sitting on them, but because she is right next to the door, she moved back when I opened it... I have just put a small piece of wood accross the edge, as I'm always worried the eggs will fall out when she moves . Tweet Tweet is either eating, sitting near the box, sitting on the perch which comes out of the nest box, or in it. He is not in their often, but does go in to feed her. Maybe that's why she's down the door end... so he can just hop in without landing on her???
  13. Awsome! I'm so excitied for you.

So cute!!! What an absolute darling...
  15. It's not double posting when you update like you have Congratulations on = 3!!!! I'm soooooo excited for you! YAH
  16. I took some quick photos this morning of Crackle and her eggs: It still has me puzzeled why she chooses to sit right near the door of the nest box, and not in the concave or the other corner, where it would be warmer away from the door?!?! She's also pilled up the wood shavings at the other end too, and just sits on eggs and the wooden base. Who knows why?
  17. Hi Kirsty and welcome. Good on you for aiming to learn as much as possible before getting your new baby. If you click on the search button (Top right), you can type in anything (as long as it has over four letters). This will bring up posts with information about your search topic. Also, the FAQ's (also top right) has so much info... you can also search there to! Some cage tips from me Get a decent sized cage... even though you don't plan on keeping your new friend in their much. Here is a link for Good and Bad Cages written by one of our moderators. Also, get rid of any of those plastic perches they supply and replace them with natural ones from the garden. They provide better exercise for your budgies feet and give them something to pull apart also. Ummm... I could go on and on, but I'll leave it there for now. ALso remember, no question is ever silly and that we were all new to budgies once. Welcome again and enjoy!!!!
  18. I hope the results come back okay, and you can get him started on the 'proper' medication... then he should start to improve. Good Luck and keep us posted!
  19. Awwwww, too cute
  20. How cute!!! :fear But it seems they did do a shocker of a job on Egg's wings! Perhaps they can be cleaned up a little by someone who knows what they are doing??? Or you might just have to let them grow out.
  21. Video worked perfectly and was very cute. So were your pictures. It looks like they had a great time, but it must have been a darn side warmed up North as it was 3*C overnight here, and pretty cold today also!
  22. OUCH!!! I hope the rest of the work is eaiser on him... and you :fear
  23. Maybe just luke warm water? I'm not sure if you can add anything to it or not, as you'd have to be careful around the eye...
  24. :fear ... hope you found it in time!!!
