Help New To The Budgie World
Welcome to the forum. You have already been given some great advice. I agree, cover the cage, keep them in a quiet room, and let them adjust. Keep us updated and don't be afraid to ask anything!!! We were all new to budgies once.

Some Sad News
For those of you who remember when my grandpa was sick with cancer earlier this year, well his wife, and my Granny now has it. She has been diagnosed with Pancreas Cancer. It is too developed and in-operable. She lives 4 hours from Melbourne and her local hospital wont touch her. She is being transfered to Melb so they can drain the bile to make her more comfortable and in less danger. Then, it will be pallitive care until the end. I don't know any more details, or how long she will have. It's all a little to much to deal with and understand at the moment. All I ask is for your prayers for my beautiful Grandma, Grandpa and family. If I'm not around much, or seem a little vague, that will be why and I appoligise now. Thanks all, Maesie xoxo

Hen Laying
All I can say is be very careful. Many breeders have had bad experiences with colony breeding and fights. Many of my hens are missing toe nails etc... because of this, and because I worked and couldn't watch them. Even if they seem fine, it doesn't take much. All that being send, many breeders colony breed with no problems. Good luck with them all, just be careful.

First Cabinet Breeding
True... you don't want to confuse them at such a young age, or push any alternative lifestyle choices onto them

First Cabinet Breeding
She is small, or is he just big? My hen has 8... I'd be happy to post some of my excess up to you if you like!!! . Good luck with them, and I hope they are all fertile. If they are named B1 and B2, if all three eggs hatch, you could call them Amy, Lulu and Morgan (after the three Teddy Bears on the TV show )

Love Is In The Air

Exciting News
Oh... sounded good , damn! I'm only really looking in the suburbs around Geelong, because if I move too far away, I won't be able to afford to drive to work (with the petrol prices grr)

Exciting News
Thanks for the hug Elly! It's hard not to be sad etc... even though you tell yourself there will be more places, and better places, and I am in no hurry. After seeing the place though, and applying, you can see yourself and your furnature in there... mmmm, must move on. I did decide though, that I am going to be moody, upset and angry tonight... and I have eaten lots of chocolate, chips etc... Then, when I wake up in the morning, I will move on.

Exciting News

Exciting News
I didn't get it!!! I know things happen for a reason, and there is obviously somewhere else better for me, but I can't help being cross and pretty upset. So... back looking more than ever... it's going to be a long few months...

Types Of Wood
Sounds like a great plan. When I make things for my avairy, I buy my wood from a local hardware shop. It is all 'untreated pine' I have never had a problem with any of it. I always sand it slightly, and wipe down. I also use natural branches. Here is a list of Safe wood/plants. I personally wouldn't use any type of glue... but that is just me. I'm not sure of its safety value etc... Draw yourself up some plans to get some good ideas. You'll also need to post us some pictures when you're done

Love Is In The Air
It does look funny, I've never seen a hen line them up like that before :hap: Maybe she's a little Obsessive Compulsive (OC), and likes to line things up and have things organised?
