Sorry I don't have any good ideas. My only suggestion would be to use one of those 'outdoor' sprays and make a perimeter around the outside aviary about a meter or so away. But I highly doubt it would be to effective, plus there is always the added risk of the spray effecting the budgies. I have the same problem, but indoors. Though it doesn't really effect my cockatiel, Bumblebee. He actually eats the ants .

:(Laughing out loud): Sounds like a classic case of being a MALE budgie. Oh yeah, definitely! (Laughing out loud)

(Laughing out loud), very cute. He could have a chat with Skittles, who loves to jump all over the keys when I'm typing. :hap:
  7. So, clearwing? (Laughing out loud) With the 'cinnamon'. It is sexlinked(?) However, I was just wondering if the cinnamon gene is CoDominant or Incomplete Dominant?
  8. Here's a better shot of the cinnamon-ish colour, though this picture was taken with a flash. http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff181/b...rrent=Skits.jpg (If i reduce it, you can't see the colour aswell) Apologies for the double post, the 'edit' button wouldn't show up on my last one.

Haha, thats a great video, it's almost like he's coming back to the camera to say "Look what I can do mum!" And "feathered toddlers" ,what a brilliant expression. It is truly amazing that so small a creature can give so much love .

The other day in Big W in the pets section I saw a guinea pig feeder, it was a round, wire ball with a clip on the top, that veggies could be placed inside of. (Sorry thats a very poor description.) I haven't tried it, but it looked the right size for budgie to be able to have access to the veggies, but larger greens (if placed in properly) wouldn't fall out and couldn't be kicked all over the place.
  11. Adorable...and such beautiful colours!

I know exactly what you mean about non-budgie friends not understanding, when I start, they roll their eyes and I can tell they're thinking "here we go again" (but it's all in good fun, they know i'm obssesed.) They can't comprehend how I get so attatched to "just a bird". Silly ignorant friends ...Even without tail & flight feathers, Charley is a little cutie :hap: .
  16. I thought they might be, will try for another

Hi Juliet Your animal family looks great . Hope we get to see more pics of your little ones. :grbud:
  20. Ah, makes sense (Laughing out loud) Thanks, Kaz :grbud: EDIT: Here are some more picture's that I hope will be helpful. Forgive the bluriness, Skittles wouldn't know how to sit still if his life depended on it . The greyish parts on his primary's is actually a very pale combo of the blue/green/yellow....but I can't seem to get it to look like that in the pics. However, if at first you don't succeed....
  21. That photo was taken with a flash, so his colouring is a bit off. But I took some more pics of his wings and tail today without the flash, now I just have to wait for the camera batteries to charge so I can get them onto the laptop. I don't know if this will help without photos, but Skittles has aqua/blue and dark blue tail feathers (the flash really lightened them in that photo) And he has a blue-tinted grey (it really is a weird colour (Laughing out loud)) on his primary feathers. Going of topic for a sec, what is the difference between a Goldenface and a YF? I've only seen Goldenface pop up a few times in my research and I'd like to add it to my "Budgie Files" for future reference . :grbud:

More picture's of the little bozo's. "Hey let us in, we want some too!" YAY...more food (You'd think I was starving them ) Who needs a vaccum cleaner?? Jinx: "Weeeee" Skittles: "Show off" "Watch me pose!" "Are you talkin' to me?" :grbud:
  23. (Laughing out loud) (I hope we get to see some of those pictures ) Ours is a little bit small for Skittles to sit on with ease, not that that stops him from trying. The little bozo is attracted to anything shiny and/or that makes 'funny' noises. You can't help but laugh.
  24. Will get some more pictures, well I'll try to anyway, Skittles isn't very big on doing what he's told and he'd rather 'eat' the camera than sit still for it (Laughing out loud).
