The waiting game is never fun....but always worth it in the end . While I'm waiting for him I will have a chance to get all his things ready - like his feed bowls,collar, bed,etc etc etc, Very true, and I always find that just as exciting....well almost .

Don't feel too bad Bea, you have to do what you think is best for everyone. I went through the same thing before I decided to get my budgie's clipped, keeping them safe was top priority, thus I got them clipped. I'm sure Blinkie will adjust without any major hiccups, I've found that they still manage to stick their little beaks into everything and climb up on shelves and such, it just takes them a bit longer than it normally would and a few attempts to find the easiest route! Also, having a few lengths of rope for them to climb up onto benches/shelves/chairs or whatever other high place they like to perch on comes in handy aswell.

Excellent post, very informative . My answer was the same as maesie's, the bars are spaced too far apart for budgies. I will admit to having a 'bad' cage, but I use it as a transport cage when I buy budgie's from breeders, so they spend very little time in it. I think that's a good idea about e-mailing the sellers on ebay Kaz, there are alot of unsuitable cages (as you guys have demonstrated) listed on there and as you've also mentioned their reccomendations for suitable birds tend to be way off alot of the time.
