  1. To me that poop is from not eating. Try everything you can to get her to eat. If you cant get her to an avian vet, talk to the petshop as they will have the details of the breeder and might help you get in touch with them and they might be able to help you.
  2. Dexter - i am calling my next male that Jake Joey Jumbles Olly Howard Trever Gillis Lenard
  3. i am used to looking at poop on news paper She definitely needs to eat are you able to crop feed some hand rearing formula with some sulfa meds in it? I'd give her some raspberry cordial in her water (for energy) Cover her cage completely and keep all her food at perch level and at the spot where she sits the most. If she starts to get fluffed add a lamp for warmth. have you a current photo of her? how is her breast bone feeling?
  4. My aviary is nearly all violets and i have not experienced any weakness with them Might just be a fluke.
  5. I think this one will fit nicely in my pocket
  6. Really?? i gotta try that with my two poop machines
  7. WOW!!! look how they have changed. The progression pictures are awesome!! I cant believe some of the boys have blue ceres already!!!!
  8. hmmmmmmm I have to say i have never known a budgie to be toilet trained. i know some other parrots can be, but i really cant say about budgies.
  9. My guess would be french moult too
  10. I am so sorry

That is an AWESOME travel cage!!!
  13. They are adorable babies. You have some very pretty ones coming too. i love the mixture of colours
  14. No need to apologise :bump: We dont know the breeder you got them fr, but 90% of the time they dont keep records and would easily forget when the birds hatched. Its noones fault, just misinformation. we don't attack - we are just trying to help - context can be easily mixed up in writing, but i reassure you we are just trying to help
  15. :bump: LOVE IT!!!! First picture is adorable too
  16. Yes, we can see the iris rings now :bump: thank you.... Sadly, even with iris rings (which come in around 4-7 months old) the ones you show are not filly developed so i still feel they are 7ish months 8 tops. That's just my view, not trying to be a pain.... i would hate for you to run into troubles with breeding young birds.
  17. Dont worry, we are not trying to rip you up Just noticed the young birds with a nest box. the breeder who you got them from has given you the wrong advice on their age, thats all. I agree with Sunnie that your hen is a clear wing - she is very pretty too :bump: . she would be around 4-7 months old
  18. Sadly I believe you were given wrong advice as the two birds in the breeding cage can not be over 12 months as they don't have iris rings :bump:
  19. They are lovely looking young birds. I agree with Kaz, why is there a nest box in with them ?
  20. :bliss: I just want to buy a few things to keep his health good.... after looking at that other members list, i was thinking of , PROBOTIC, MOULTING AID , and SOLUVET . would these be fine ? a single, non breeding budgie on a balanced diet of fresh seed and vegies doesn't normally need any further supplements Moulting aid could be good if he has troubles while moulting... but if he moults well then there is no need. also, do i need to buy something for insects as hes inside most of the time ? It's always good to look for external mites and lice on the feathers and body and treat accordingly Also, a pet shop told me i dont need to worm him as hes kept inside and theres no other birds around...is this true ? It's always good to worm at least once a year for a single bird. every 12 weeks is better, as even though they live alone there is always the possibility they came with worms from the breeder, and unless everything in the cage is completely sterolised, there is risk of reinfection. basically he gets fresh seed and water everyday. Peas and corn every couple of days. ( that's the only veggies he eats) and Millet on weekends... I just wanted to buy a few necessary supplements that will keep him in top notch shape.Add Silver beet, beetroot, carrots and brocoli. - 3-4 times a week on to another topic. when i got him as a baby, before i clipped his wings, he used to fly around the lounge room doing several laps regularly.......his wings have grown back now, but he seems to have no interest in flying around . why is this. sometimes he does a short fly a few metres but thats it. nothing like before. Budgies often dont fly well after their wings have been clipped as they loose muscle tone and get lazy. they get used to not flying so they often (but not always) take a while to get back into it. there is every possibillity his wings were clipped a little early and he hadn't developed his muscles properly. i always recomend clippeing after they have turned 9 weeks. why do budgies get all fluffed up when they are talking or excited ? whens hes on my hand and talking he get all fluffed up and spreads his tail feathers. That is just part of their flirting - notice they look cuter when they chatter. thats just a way to attract a mate last but not least. whats another name for the peppermint tree which bugies supposedly love. Is a wheeping willow the same as a peppermint tree. Im in adelaide and cant seem to find any. I also have trouble finding the peppermint gum. I thought i had some, but i now think its the wrong type so am still on the lookout!
  21. I agree they are al Australian native. , i have always called them show types or pet types to reduce confusion
  22. I would have said she was going out of condition until you said she has puss. she needs to see an avian vet. puss = infection.
  23. I think that one is for an avian vet to diagnose.
  24. She will need to have it reshapened by a vet. do you know why the beak is shaped like that. you may not want to breed with her as it could be a disease.
