Blue and the Vet Visit
If his cage is not too bad, don't worry about cleaning it. If there are any mucky areas from his runny poop you can put some shredded paper or something over the mucky bits for now - you need to stress him as little as possible

sulphadim is a board spectrum sulfonamide antibiotic. I am not exactly sure where you can get some - your vet will know Cut off as much of the poop as you can, then place him in a warm bowel of water (only legs and vent) and wash off the rest of the muck. make sure he stays warm and dries quickly.

My First Cabinet Pairs.
Day 20 and still no Jellybeans yet - but many eggs have visible "draw-down" as the air cell gets larger in preparation for hatching. One egg has a tiny crack and i can hear the chick cheeping from inside There will be a bub any minute

Here is the poop site ---> HERE Keep molly seperate so a shoe box (with lots of holes) will be safer than putting her with blue. Use the ACV to clean every nuck and cranny of the cage too.

Recovery rate for an unknown disease/illness is as long as a piece of sting - there is no way of knowing. Get him to the vet today and find out what is wrong, then you can go from there.

Blue and the Vet Visit
for all those tests what would an estimated vet bill be?I have tried to get some clear photos of him and his poo but there coming out to blurry even when i adjust my position and the camera. Im going to ring the vet at 8:00 we though he was going to lose his battle just before, he was on the floor sleeping and I was stroking his head but then he saw the corn I had for him and he went for it as if he hadn't eaten in weeks. His poos have changed dramatically instead of normal colouration and lumpy they have turned more black in colour and there very moist there not runny just moist. Does the black colour mean hes not drinking enough water?I have had a closer look at the poo on the pirch and when the light shines on it it goes a dark forest green colour and it has whitish grey parts in the centre Get a sample of his poop and spread it over a piece of white paper - is it black? if so then he has bleeding in his digestive tract. if its browny-green then its a better sign. To me, it sounds like he has Megabateria which lays dormant in the body until the immune system is compromised by sstress or a secondary infection at vet will take a poo sample and will be able to test for the fungi/yeast under the microscope.

Blue and the Vet Visit
Morning Cara, So pleased he is still with us. He is not as bright sounding as i expected though. I would get onto your avian vet and get them to test for Megabateria, Canker and psittacocis. Normally often a blood test and a poop sample and a crop wash can tell the vet what is happening. Good luck  Can you post photos of him and his poop?

Blue and the Vet Visit

Blue and the Vet Visit
I hope Blue perks up - You may most likely find that he stopped eating (or ran out of food) at your grandparents place. For now, give him what you can then let him rest for the night. Having the light on will encorage to eat more too. In the morning you will know what is going to happen with him - if he is brighter in the morning it will mean he had a period of no food which in my view is the most likely cause of his symptoms.

Yes he will be fine with the light on. If the light bothers him it means he is getting better

Buying Budgies What To Look For
Always look for A happy active budgie who sits on the perch and is among other happy healthy budgies. Also check for clean bright eyes, Clean smooth and shiny feathers Clean vent (bottom) is a MUST!! Clean feathers above the nostrils (no dark stains or signs of moisture) Make sure the place you get them from is clean and the water is fresh etc too - You need to check all birds in the cage with the bird you want as if one is sick it may have infected the one you want too. Make sure you quarantine a new bird from your currrent bird for at least 30 days in another room. Good luck
