My insiders Latte, scooter and Cookie are having a change around. Due to the fact the Latte and Scooter have never really bonded to me and it takes me about 5 minuets to catch them every time i put them back in their cage, I have decided to give them a trial period in the aviary. On the other hand, Cookie is becoming a real character and always flying to me and wanting to play etc so I am planning to teach him to talk and do tricks - he has really come out of his shell since his first moult. Anyway, I just thought i would share that Latte and Scooter have joined the aviary flock for now. Scooter thinks it's alright. Latte is not so keen as she came inside straight from the nest box and has been spoilt ever since
  4. How horrible! I hope you get it sorted out fast
  5. I agree, we all know you don't pull the wool over our eyes. Your beautiful babies are genuine and you dont need to prove that to us. Don't let some arrogant kid who is obviously jealous of the :anim_19: quality of your birds get you down.
  6. are any of the earlier eggs fertile?
  7. Do you know how old the hen is by any chance?
  8. Hi Marlo, Charlie sounds like he is doing really well. in regards to the sneezing, does he have and darkish stains or signs of moisture in the feathers above his cere? if not then there is no reason to be concerned about his sneezing.
  9. Good luck with the little ones. Keep us posted on their progress
  10. Awww gotta love grandma's - they are always there when you need them
  11. What luck Jenene!! Buy a lotto ticket i think Great Tip Kaz, will be getting one of those
  12. She is gorgeous and i agree, she is a YF2 dominant pied (my aviary is filled with them) and it is quite common for them to be missing markins on one side of their face
  13. Congratulations on all your babies - sounds like things are going smoothly

    Woooo!!! congrats Kaz!!! :bliss:
  15. It's okay to let him have fun with the hens as long as the hens are having fun too. some cocks can get over excited and start to stress the hen from too much action - I had this with a young cock who just kept at the hen, she ended up sick form stress She had to go on antibiotics and he got separated from her for 4 weeks. They are both fine now and he has calmed down.
  16. I agree with YF2 - you will find when he moults it will be more obvious through his body
  17. Oh cool! I was hoping there was nothing wrong
  18. Awwwww! They are so beautiful!! I cant wait to see the bubs feather up
  19. My hens have all finished laying their eggs for this round, but they all still have HUGE MEGA POOS - why???
  20. I custom made my seed catcher for my cage and its made from a silky material too to help any feathers and husks slide to the bottom under the cage where they lie trapped until the weekly clean out. I find it very effective along with a cloth to protect the floor from any stray bits - i don't have to vacuum every day and i have 5 birds (2 tiels and 3 budgies) inside. Cockatils are FAR messier than budgies as their feather dust gets EVERYWHERE and there poos are much more noticeable!
  21. I agree with Neat, they do look all male
