I agree with not self diagnosing too. There are a few basic illnesses that can be easily diagnosed like scaly face for example. But most other illnesses really need to be assessed by a qualified avian vet. Elly, if you get a sore throat again... see if your pharmacy has a product called "Betadine Gargle" Its an anti viral and antibacterial iodine throat gargle and works a treat on sore throats

I have violet very strongly in my flock and i find that most of them also carry the violet hue around the neck too. I dont know if it means they are carrying it, but they all came from violet parents so it wouldn't surprise me

Good luck with the hen who has a disabled foot. If you pair her watch the male as if he has having troubles mounting her properly you could try putting flat perches in or even AI if you wanted.

I am forever grateful for your brilliant names Kaz!!! me, proud? hehe - How can you tell Yes, i love my babies and its so easy to get attached to them. I am so pleased I managed to get a camera that finally takes decent photos to show the birds finer details. I am still working out the settings, but i am very happy with it Because all the babies appear to be hens, i will be keeping them - i am desperate for hens in my flock. All the babies (other than Angelica) are looking for names too if anyone has any ideas

The male is Pop, and the hen's name is Ino These two have 3 eggs so far and she is sitting really well I hope i can get rings in time to ring the babies

The target ones have been tested by my kids and their friends - they are great and haven't seen any issues. the big W ones are not so good as they tend to weather fairly quickly.

Trampolines... oh my god. So much fun! I know so many people with them that i haven't needed to buy one for my own kids the round ones that are 10ft and over are the best. Most people i know get them from Target for around $300 - $400 the 8 feet ones are just that little bit small.

Some don't settle - normally it only takes a week or so tops, so your hen might be what i call "claustrophobic" and never like a small cage.
