  3. She is very cute! I've has the same happen to me. When I bought Henrietta I thought it was a he for the first 2 weeks and named it Henry. I still call her Henry because she responds to the name but think of it as short for Henrietta.

  17. HI there Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I have been a little flat out in the past few days. I have 3 male budgies and 1 female. Unfortunately my male budgies are not talkers. They prefer bird language. If you have one male budgie you have a better chance of getting him to talk. It can be possible to get 2 male budgies to talk but could be harder to do because they may rather talk in bird language to each other. If you want 2 male budgies to talk I suggest that you spend lots of time with Smuggler and talk to him heaps and then when he can talk introduce a second budgie. Some budgies end up not being talkers at all no matter how much they are trained. I think it all depends on the temperament of the budgie. It's a hard decision I know as to whether to get another. When I bought my first (George) he would hear birds outside singing and would want to be with them. I felt sorry for him and got another budgie for him so he could have a friend. This made him very happy and from there I bought another 2 and now have 4. Good luck with it all. Let us know Smugglers progress and if you decide to get another male budgie.
  18. Hello I was wondering if male budgies make different sounds to females. I have 1 female (Henrietta). She makes the same sounds as my other 3 which are males but also makes a kind of screeching sound too.
  19. George is a happy bird always chirpping and playful. I captured him on 2 short videos. The first one he is flirting with a toy and in the second one he is singing and Balki features also. http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc295/v...nt=794a4350.pbr http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc295/v...nt=DSCN9919.flv
  20. They are all so cute!!!
  21. It's wonderful that she is now well looked after and happy. I have a hen and she does not bite either. I hope everything goes well with the little one. Look forward to seeing some pics.
  22. All three are adorable.
  23. That is sooo cute! She looks like she is having a ball.
  24. Smuggler is gorgeous. Just a word of warning that budgies are addictive. I started with 1 and now have 4. If you do get another one the good thing is he will have a friend to talk to when you're away from home.
  25. I have 4 pet budgies all are tame at different levels. Franklin is my second budgie and I've had him now for 5 months. I have noticed that he enjoys my company more now than when I first had him. My first budgie is George and when I introduced Franklin (my second budgie) they bonded straight away. They couldn't keep away from each other. Always preening and fussing over each other. George is tame and would sit on your hand but prefers to be in his cage. If you take him out of the cage usually he will sit on your hand for a while and then head back to the cage. Franklin used to always follow George all the time so he took on the same behaviour. I have noticed just recently Franklin enjoys sitting on my hand and would stay for a long period of time even if I take George out of the cage and if George heads back to the cage Franklin would remain sitting on my hand and not follow George. It's funny how Franklins behaviour has changed. It goes to show how much a budgies behavious can change and become more tame with time. Here is a short video of Franklin happily sitting on my hand.
