Sleeping Spots?
It's a weird thing, but every night at around 7:30 my birds all leave their perches to go to one side of the aviary to sleep. I put perches up there and some below them but they like their heads right under the aviary roof. If they can't find a perch, they hang on the the mesh. . When you walk outside when it's dark, you can just see all of the feathers and colours under the roof on the one side of the cage. It's odd, so we're going to get a big perch and put it right along the one side that they all sleep on so they all get a 'spot'.

Wow, you figured out the gender, another girl... ah!! . Thanks guys . Yesterday I noticed that one of her eye's was a bit red (like feathers missing from it)... she's not scratching it or anything, do you think it will heal, I don't know how it got there.

New Budgie.
Are you sure it's a girl?... his/her nose is becoming a dark blue and when I hold him/her, she/he dosent bite as hard as my females do. My cousin wants me to keep him/her in my aviary and look after him/her, so she can visit him/her sometimes. She's/he's kind of a violet/grey colour.

New Budgie.
I'm also wondering what mutation he is... I'm not sure.

Myth Or True?
okay, so I suppose it's safe to just breed the budgies and leave the cockateil on it's own, we tried to do that once and it went okay, the only problem was the tiny aviary, so i'll only breed budgies on their own, not with cockateils. Thanks for your help.

Myth Or True?
I went to the Markets today to get a new bird (Roxii,) and we were also about to buy a second cockateil. All of my birds are in the aviary including the cockateil, one cockateil, 6 budgies. So I was going to get a second cockateil and the lady at our service told us that 'budgies are very territorial, if you want cockateils with budgies, you need more cockateils than the amount of budgies, or the budgies would kill the cockateils.' Now I'm really worried, the cockateil has been housed with the budgies for at least a year and so far so good. They get along great, there is an occasional 'nip' or 'peck' but all birds do that. Do you think that this could be true, iv'e never heard of that before? I don't know if the lady was an experienced bird person.

Today we went to the markets to get a budgie for my 5 year old cousin. She called him Roxii. Here's a picture of him: We are hoping he's a boy, so don't tell us you reckon it's a girl (jokes.) :budgiedance:
